~ Resources for Online Publicity Campaigns ~
Last Updated: April 29, 2005 Templates and Sample Campaigns Patron Saint Productions Resources Page http://www.patronsaintpr.com Source of templates for standard documents used in online campaigns. Sample campaigns and case histories. Annotated lists of online publicity resources for finding chats, discussion groups, supersites, media, etc. Discussion Group Finders Google Groups http://groups.google.com/ Fantastic resources for working Usenet newsgroups. Easy to search, read, and post to groups. Highly recommended. Yahoo! Groups http://groups.yahoo.com/ Yahoo bought OneList and eGroups, forming a mailing list supersite. A great interface for choosing groups for a postings campaign, but desperately needs an advanced search mechanism for finding the best, most active groups. MSN Groups http://groups.msn.com/ Not nearly as large or active as Yahoo Groups, this MSN site is a growing collection of special-interest discussion groups. One nice feature: You can usually upload book excerpts yourself -- without getting approval or permission -- once you have joined a group. Topica http://lists.topica.com/ Excellent place to find Internet mailing lists devoted to any given subject. Successor to Liszt, one of the best mailing list finders ever. SuperSite Finders for Excerpt Syndication Open Directory (DMOZ) http://www.dmoz.org/ Best resource for finding Web Sites That Matter to your target audience. DMOZ is a quality catalog of online sites -- what Yahoo! used to be when Yahoo! was good. Google http://www.google.com/ Google is currently my favorite search engine. By experimenting with putting phrases in quotes, and following category links, you can generate very targeted results to your queries in search of the top sites in any particular category.
