The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) is a national motorsports organization with more than 55,000 members. We were founded in 1944 as a club for amateur sports car enthusiasts. SCCA sanctions a variety of motorsports competitions such as Autocross (Solo2), High Performance Driving Experiences, Time Trials, Hill Climbs and Road Racing.

CCR COMPETITIVE EVENTS
We of fer a variety of marketing venues and programs to put your company and products in fr ont of the customers you seek. AUTOCROSS (SOLO2)

This is CCR’s most popular type of event. Done in large parking lots, a course is set up using traffic cones. Drivers race against the clock against drivers in their car class. With dozens of car classes there is one for any car and many pick-up trucks. There is no requirement to participate beyond having a valid driver’s license and a vehicle that can pass our basic safety inspection (required before any vehicle may compete). This makes autocross the easiest way for anyone to start their journey in motorsports. Autocrosses attract hundreds of participants and spectators to each event. CCR has as many as ten events per season, some of them twoday events, that draw entrants and crews not only from CCR but also other Southeastern regions.

CCR COMPETITIVE EVENTS cont.
TIME TRIALS

These are timed track events that require safety equipment for both car and driver beyond what you have in your daily driver. Some cars are still street legal but most are race prepped. Drivers get to use their car’s full race potential without the risks of wheel-to-wheel competition. HILL CLIMBS

Drivers race up closed mountain roads for time. This is one of the most challenging of all motorsports events, testing drivers nerves at the limit. This is the only type event for which spectators pay at the gate and is second only to autocross for spectator turn-out.

CCR COMPETITIVE EVENTS cont.
Road Racing

Central Carolinas Region offers both Regional and National level road racing events at Carolina Motorsports Park, Kershaw, South Carolina. These events draw hundreds of entrants and crews from across North America. These events are covered by motorsports publications, often including photos of the events. With these diverse events your company and image will be displayed effectively to the customer base you seek with peripheral exposure to the general public in a form that will enhance your corporate image.

Time Trials, Hill Climb and Road Racing participants tend to be a bit older on average and have higher incomes. At all levels participants have a “hands on” approach toward the sport and as such their purchasing habits reflect that tendency. Spectators tend to be family and friends of the participants so you can expect similar demographics in that segment.
