1. Association of Large Families.

Association of Large Families, Latsia-Nicosia-Cyprus (4 kids and more-520 members in Latsia, more than 20,000 allover Cyprus)
    



Our association is part of the Pancyprian Organisation of Large Families located in Cyprus (more than 20,000 families having at least 4 kids all over Cyprus). Our main objective is the welfare of our members. We have elections every 3 years, and a 7members commitee is elected. We work on a voluntary base and no salary is paid to the members of our commitee. We organize speeches and seninars by well educated people for the benefit of our members, we assist our members on their daily problems (even find them a job), we participate in tree plant efforts, in blood collection campains and we have cooperation with the local municipality and schools located in Latsia. Also we visit shops and gain special offers for our members, . Each member (family) has its own member card, that is being renewed every year. We look forward for cooperation with institutions within Europe in the field of adult education, study reports, questionnairs, identify needs and give solutions, or similar fields since our members belong to a group of people with special needs and characteristics. The main characteristic of large families is the luck of time due to other priorities that have to do with growing up many children and that’s why the welfare status of these families is low, most of the times. These families can re-enter the society only after their children are grown up, but at the same time their productive (and beautifull) years, belong to the past. They need our help, at least for education purposes.

- Seeks to respond to the challenges raised by the necessity to update knowledge and to provide adults with pathways to improve their competences, as they progress through life so that they can adapt to changes in society. - It is targeted at learners, teachers, trainers and other staff in adult education and the educational institutions, organisations and other bodies offering and facilitating such learning opportunities. - And education institutions can work together through transnational partnerships and European projects. Nowadays Europe is undergoing a major transformation to become a world-leading knowledge-based society, and ongoing vocational training and learning have to renew constantly the skills of EU citizens in order to equip them to handle the challenges and everevolving technologies of today, making them well educated and trained citizens able to take their qualifications across borders. Keeping all these ideas in mind, we will try to carry out a European framework which define the new basic skills to be provided through lifelong learning: ICT skills, foreign languages, entrepreneurship and social skills, that them all should be established in order to promote digital literacy successfully throughout the European Union. Aims: Our main aims will be to help the participating countries identify innovation and good policy practice, and to learn from each other, taking into account three different blocks of contents: - LANGUAGE LEARNING BREAKING THE LANGUAGE BARRIERS In a Europe where linguistic diversity is a fact of life, learning to speak other languages can open many doors. For individuals, it can pave the path to a better career and help them to live, study or work abroad. This key activity aims to raise awareness of the importance of acquiring linguistic skills, boost access to language-learning resources and develop teaching materials. - ICT FOR LIFELONG LEARNING INNOVATIVE LEARNING Information and communications technologies are powerful tools for improving the quality and the ease of access to education and training. Developing innovative ICT solutions to promote better education and training throughout a citizen’s life is a special focus of the Lifelong Learning Programme. - DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009
Having 2009 as the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, the attempt with our project is to go beyond that and cover not only education and culture, but also other policy domains such as enterprise, media, research, social and regional policy and development. Emphasis is unavoidably placed on better use of knowledge and rapid innovation. A broadening of the creative skills base involving the whole population is therefore a sine qua none. In particular, there is a need for skills and competences that enable people to embrace change as an opportunity and to be open to new ideas in a culturally diverse, knowledgebased society. Education and training are determining factors in this. In effect, this project will aim, through the synergies that will result from it, at disseminating practices from the local or national level to the European level. It also aims at stimulating the cooperation in various practices, namely the teaching and training of adults as well as promoting good examples of creativity and innovation. For example, the following issues could be used as starting points for the development of new Learning Partnerships:  Developing a working environment in adult education organizations, taking into account the diverse educational needs of the students    Using adult education to strengthen active citizenship among talent and gifted people Improving the quality of adult education provided to talent and high-abilities adults Promoting intercultural dialogue

Working language: The working language of the partnership is Spanish.

1.Support Center for Children and Family

Social and Educational Action

The Social and Educational Action, founded in 1997, is a voluntary Non Governmental Organization. The organization, targeting socially and financially disadvantaged communities, aims to improve their living conditions and support their personal development. The Social and Educational Action seeks to raise social awareness within communities and promotes the idea of activism and voluntarism through its activities. Thus, the NGO has created a respectable network of volunteers and seeks co-operation with other institutions, either public or private. The Social and Educational Action maintains the Support Center for Children and Family since 1997. The center focuses, mainly, on the support of the socially excluded children – the so called street children – children who belong to ethnic and religious minorities, who face psychological, and family problems, or children victims of racism and marginalization. The higher goal is the inclusion of the socially excluded children and their families through respect for their cultural identity and traditions.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CIVIC NON – PROFIT ORGANIZATION “ SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTION “

The civic non profit organization with the name SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTION which was formed after the approval of its statute by the Athens Court of Justice (first instance) on March 11,1997 with the object of the organization being, as per article 3 of the statute, strictly social, educational and cultural. The Social and Educational action established in 1997 the support Center for Children and Family. Our institution is registered with the Department of Health and Social solidarity as a social care institution (registration number 19111 AET 11097041N-0033). Also the Prefecture of Athens has officially approved our centre’s provision of social care to the particular social group. The work we have undertaken is difficult, yet it has been officially acknowledged many times. In the context of true ‚international volunteer year‛ we have been proclaimed

as the most active organization in the field of social work and awarded by the president of the Republic (December 2000). In 1999 our work received the award of the Journalist Committee of the National Radio Station and was made member of the government of the NGO’s of the citizen’s society.

The Support Center for Children and Family The Center has devoted its efforts to combating illiteracy and to supporting socially excluded children (street children), children who belong to racial, ethnic or religious minorities and those who experience family problems as a result of racism and marginalization. The Center provides direct services through the Children’s Day Center , the Youth Day’s Center and the Family Center, located in a rented building in a problem area of central Athens, Metaxourgio-Kolonos. The Center seeks to arouse and develop children’s imagination and creativity, developing it wherever possible through a variety of school and non-school activities (painting, sport, theatre) encouraging social habits, bathing, health education, etc. The aim is for the children to be gradually integrated into society and, most importantly, to be made aware that there are alternatives to their present condition. The Children’s Day Center functions as a learning institution, its primary mission being to prepare both children and parents to come to terms with the necessity of school and face it constructively. The ultimate objective is that the children be enrolled in local schools. In 2002 a program for youth was established by the Center, in the hope that it will increase these young people’s chances for social integration, while respecting their cultural characteristics. After the first year, the original small group of adolescents attending was enlarged and more activities were added to the basic objective, which was to pass the exams for the elementary school diploma. The Family Center is also a problem-solving agency for the older family members, especially mothers, offering assistance with social, legal, health and educational matters. On the whole, the center holds the following programmes:   Children’s day Center

School preparation class for young children. Teaching the basic procedures and behaviour

The Center is providing school material to children that have been enrolled to school. (school bags, notebooks, pencils, pencil cases etc.)  Learning skills and group activities: Survival knowledge in everyday life situations and constructions program for older children mostly older boys. Computers are also available to the children  Meal serving. Lunch is provided daily to the children.  Health care and hygiene. The objective of this programme is to approach the problem of the older children age 13 to 18 and make them realize that there are other alternatives to begging, selling flowers, law breaking and antisocial behaviour.  Literacy Programme. Since there is no elementary school, in Greece, for adults and other children, adolescents can receive the elementary school certificate by taking equivalency exams. Our centre’s literacy programme was instituted to help these adolescents acquire basic knowledge and take the public equivalency exams successfully (reading, writing, maths etc)



Volunteer and Assistance Program

The volunteers are evaluated for the services they can provide to the population, according to their qualifications and their abilities. They, usually, work as assistants to the professional staff, as for example, in the study room helping with the homework. They also accompany the children to the theatre or other functions. Volunteers are welcome to all activities taking place at the centre.

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009
The centre has many friends who donate material goods to cover the needs of the children and their families. A Review The Support Center for Children and Family, which was founded by Ms Myrto Lemos, was realized through effort and struggle. The Center is based on her experience of street work for Street Children. Specifically, Ms Myrto Lemos began her career as a field worker in New York in the year 1979 and continued to do so for the following three years. That experience gave her an alternative view into the field of street work. She comments that “the street work forces the social worker to abandon the office and the authoritarian attitude it creates and approach the personin-need on an equal basis. The social worker that undertakes to work in the streets visits the people-inneed in order to gain an independent view towards the actual problems and needs. Constantly referring to the principles of social work – i.e. respect for each persona, discretion, and honesty – the social worker needs to create an atmosphere of trust with the person-in-need and become the person’s guide, advisor and supporter”. From 1991 to 1995, she was working for the support of Athenian minorities (Greek Muslims and Roma) under the umbrella of the company of intercultural psychiatry, coordinating seminars to professional educators and social scientists, entitled “the socio-psychological problems of socially excluded populations”. During that period, she made her first contact with the citizens that live in the central under-privileged areas of Athens (Gazi, Votanikos, Keramikos, Metaksourgio, kolonos), and who belong to the populations of Greek Muslims and Roma. The aforementioned seminars took place at the heart of the affected area near the homes of the socially excluded minority. The room was very small, approximately 60 square meters. In the beginning, there were just two children, who in time brought more. The practitioners gained experience through helping children to learn how to read and write; the children called that little room a school. When the seminars came to an end the little room was abandoned. It was that very time that Ms Myrto Lemos came up with the idea to establish a Center dedicated to covering the educational needs of those children. So, after leaving the above company, Ms Lemos, along with other volunteers, created a group whose aim was to aid Muslim children in the area of Gazi with reading and writing. This project was housed in the Youth Center owned by the Athenian Municipality. However, this effort didn’t reach the whole of the target population, since the Youth Center was visited solely by the Turkish speaking children and not by the Muslim children.

GRUNDTVIG¨ Partenariats

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009
Thus, in the meantime, she began a quest for a more substantial program under the umbrella of a public or a private sector. All the efforts proved fruitless. So, she decided to realize her own vision; a Center for Children. Quoting her: ‚I had laid out the plan in my head. I should first rent a house for the children, I shall make it cozy, I should spend time with the children as much as possible without being hindered by the constrains and bureaucracy found in similar efforts of the civil sector, I should try to gather volunteers who would like to work with the children‛. That is how it all started. The Day Center dedicated to the socially excluded children, the children that wash windscreens, sell tissues and flowers, was called The Support Center for Children and Family. In March of 1997 she formed the non-governmental organization the ‚social and Educational Action‛, in order to support the most important of the center’s goals giving it a legal standing. A place of 100 quarter meters was rented in Metaksourgio in Giatrakou street. After a couple of years, an additional palce was rented in Aristonos and Pierias street aimed at children aged between 5 and 13 years old, whereas the former place now hosted teenagers above the age of 13. Due to financial difficulties the teenagers Day Center was closed in February 2007. - Youth Center for Young Children The smooth integration of the street children into the standard social reality is the primary goal of the Youth Center for Young Children. The Youth Center stands by these children aiming to show that there are alternatives to their standard living conditions. In the meantime, the center gives priority to school assistance and support by helping children with their homework and at the same time supporting and guiding families to fulfill their parental duties and face the necessity of school and education constructively. The center prepares the Younger Children for school in such a way that they are taught the appropriate social skills and proper behaviour; both necessary elements for a successful enrolment and absorption. The center seeks to motivate children to develop their imagination and creativity and support the ones that are already enrolled. It succeeds to do so through various programmes, such as assistance with their homework, special programmes combating illiteracy and programmes for learning skills through activities. Also, the Center runs school enrolling programmes, accompanying the children for registration, following up on their progress and attendance. The Center provides school material to children that have been enrolled to school. (schoolbags, notebooks, pencils, pencil cases etc.). Lunch is daily provided for children. Children used to participate in the preparation of lunch in the center, now it is offered by the public nursery of the Municipality of Athens. In addition, the Center runs a Health care and hygiene programme, providing basic care, such as bathing and clean clothing. Also, the Center escorts children to the Medical Centers or Clinics for their vaccination and their medical and dental check-up, etc. - Youth Day Center

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009

The Youth Day Center deals with socially excluded teenagers aged between 13 and 20 years old. It provides its services mainly to Muslim Greek Roma Citizens who live in an underprivileged central area of Athens near Kolonos – Metaxourgio. The center has been active since 2003 and its structure is based on a previous programme called ‚Counseling and Sensitization Programme for Teenagers‛, which was implemented during the previous years. Until February 2007, the Center was located in 12 Giatrakou Street in the area of Metaxourgio, an area in the Municipality of Athens. Today, due to financial difficulties, the Youth Day Center is located along with the Day Center for Young Children and the Family Center. The Youth Day Center aspires through its actions to form a constructive institution, which will serve as a secure place for teenagers which will be a ‚shelter‛ and a ‚Starting Point‛. The primary objective of the Youth Day Center is to reduce feelings of social exclusion and motivate the healthy dynamics manifested in teenagers. It also seeks to help teenagers reject any forms of delinquent behaviour as it encourages models of behaviour which would lead to social and occupational inclusion as well as to their educational and personal development. The Center also runs a tutoring programme addressed to teenagers that helps them overcome the difficulties in school, while, in the meantime, the Center promotes recreational and educational activities such as forming artistic groups, visits to museums, theatres etc. The Youth Day Center is broadening its influence in order to secure that each teenager will have proper social integration through participation in the Center’s activities and special programmes.

- Family Center The Family Center is a Social Service Center addressed to Children’s Families. It is a problem-solving agency for the adult family members, especially mothers. Generally, it offers assistance with social, legal, health and educational matters. The Center’s objectives are counseling, motivation, awareness and guidance for parents about their roles, rights and duties towards their children. In the meantime, it provides information and shows proper solutions for various social issues. The Center serves as a mediator between the beneficiary and the private or public sector, aiming to the resolution of social and legal issues. The Social Service Center provides:  Direct services and information to citizens, mainly regarding issues on social welfare. (The Center serves 500 Muslim Families – approximately 2500 people- dealing with matters of social benefits and issues of health and abuse, solving legal and bureaucratical issues and errors, etc).  Counseling and awareness.  Follow up to the relevant social sectors, monitoring the progress of each case.  Escort to the public offices whenever necessary.

4.The "Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre" Centre
About us - the institution The ‚Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre‛ (TNN) Centre is an independent cultural institution settled in 1998 and financed by the Municipality of Lublin engaged in fostering an awareness of Lublin's rich multicultural history and at developing a deeper sense of local identity. The Centre focuses on integrating local community through historical and cultural heritage of their place of living. To achieve this goal we search for new methods of engaging people in culture, spread the idea of cooperation between them and launch innovative projects such as:  oral history  large internet data bases of texts, pictures and multimedial files http://tnn.pl/pamie.php  exhibitions, e.g. ‚The Primer‛ (info in English: www.tnn.pl/elementarz/)  theatrical open air events  artistic book  etc. More information in English: tnn.pl/k_77_m_453.html More information in German: tnn.pl/k_78_m_78.html Articles about some of our projects in English, German and French: www.tnn.lublin.pl/k_112_m_453.html

Our experience in „space culture”

GRUNDTVIG¨ Partenariats

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009
Most of TNN projects has always had spatial dimension because we deal with facts and values attached to places. However, in 2005 we launched a separate programme on ‚culture of space‛. By this term we mean high standards of city planning serving higher human needs such as culture, art, integration, participation, responsibility, nature, recreation etc. The breakthrough was the publication of our book ‚Talks on Space Culture‛ (pdf files: tnn.pl/k_417_m_3.html) which lead to:  a series of public meetings called Forum for Culture of Space  cooperation of Lublin Municipality with bike riders (as an example of social participation)  creating an office of a specialist on space culture in Lublin Municipality  creation of a course for space culture at Warsaw University of Life Science. Marcin Skrzypek marcin@tnn.lublin.pl +48 81 532 58 67 603 714 532 Proposal of Grundtvig Learning Partnership on the quality of city space The „Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre‛ Centre would like to encourage partners to join its project dedicated to citizens, who are interested in raising the quality of their urban environment. The general aim of the project is to work out and share innovative and efficient methods of public participation in space planning. The project has the working title „Meet My Needs – tha Practice of Space Culture‛ and it stems from a basic idea that inhabitants perceive their city environment as good when it meets their needs. However, fulfilling this simple condition occures to be very difficult because it involves permanant social dialogue aimed at:  gaining knowledge about one's own and other people's needs as regards city space  gaining knowledge about how these needs may change in time (while people get older and communities grow up)  negotiating the hierarchy of the needs to be fulfilled taking into account limited time, space and money resources Going through each of these steps requires education on many levels of citizen's life. It is therefore possible to adjust the project to many key issues that will occure important to partners such as:  the presence of cultural heritage and art in public space  methods of satisfying needs of various age groups (eg. children and the elderly)  integration of the disabled with the rest of society  space as arena of intercultural dialogue  integrated transport: cars, bikes, pedestrians, disabled  active citizenship / metods of social participation in investments

The final subject of the project will arise from the interests of partners but the educational character of Grundtvig programme enables partners to do different things and learn from one another. Lublin is a historic city strongly determined to develop and having four univesities with dapartments of landscape and architecture. Thefore I think cooperation with us offers interesting work and educational profits for participants. The Grundtvig Learning Programme (LLP) is very friendly – you will find the necessary information at your national agency, so it is easy to ask questions in your language. Every partner writes applications and reports also to their national agiencies. The obligatory components for partners (national priorities) will be announced at the beginning of November. The preparatory visits can be financed by LLP national agencies. The deadline for sending applications is February 2009. I hope everything is clear, otherwise, please do not hesitate to contact me With kind regards Marcin Skrzypek The "Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre" Centre ul. Grodzka 21 20-112 Lublin marcin@tnn.lublin.pl

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009
The article 4353 was made based on the law about organisation of attorneyship in Italian State as template. Although not yet firmly confirmed and acknowledged, at the onset, the attorney ship organisation of Italian State has been initiated within the frame of the Ministry of Finance, later got bound to prime ministry and now restructured as State Attorney Bar. In the current process, we have been restructured branch office bound to finance department of governorate which represents the ministry of finance. While our registered manager is governor the discipline manager we are reporting to is the head of financial department. The ministry of finance and prime ministry were sued on the ground that our institution is not a branch office but a governorate one, that we should not report to the head of finance department and that we should have right for indemnity against some particular service rendered. Moreover, there are efforts ongoing to update the law article 4353. As far as we know there exists a system similar to that one applicable in Turkey. We as state attorneys and law consultants of Turkish Republic which is hardly trying to get access to European Union would like to have knowledge upon the followings, that is, Italian State attorney ship; 1. What sort of modification it structurally went through since its set up 2. How it represents the judiciary body in the international court, executive office, local court and arbitrator office (for example, how it sues, renounces, annuls to bring higher court and abnegates) 3. What the organisation’s authority limit and duty is 4. How its auditing system works and who its disciplinary and registry managers are 5. Whether they have representing authority except in the court and executive office 6. How a communication is established with representing organisations, and how documents and info flow run

GRUNDTVIG¨ Partenariats

VERSION 23 JANVIER 2009
Life long learning should not be limited with the students, workers or the unemployed. Parents, who constitute the core of a family, should also be educated in order to constitute a powerful society. As mothers are more dominant than fathers in child education and care, the target group of this partnership will mainly be mothers but particular importance will be given to fathers, as well. The main objective of this partnership is to exchange and compare the methodologies and practices in classes for the target group by taking advantage of exchanging experience, sharing ideas, analyzing different classroom situations and training programs, developing and sharing common instruments that can be used in training courses and disseminated at local, regional, national and European level through meetings, publications and on-line courses via internet. Another focus will be given to the main problems met during these classes and to the possible solutions that can be implemented to improve the quality of learning. These objectives will be achieved by the direct and active involvement of the trainers and learners of different backgrounds

Our project draft is ready and I just want to explain the details who are interested in the subject. LAST CRAFTSMEN Our institute is in the city of Adana which is 4th biggest city on the coast of Mediterranean Sea in the south of Turkey. It's an amateur photography association First art events of the association was started in Mehmet BALTACI's , one of the founders, studio named Studio 75 located in Sular district of Adana. It was a rather cramped place; however, a handful of art photography followers used to gather there, and watch photo slide shows one after another and also develop the photos in the dark room till dawn. The studio was quite small unlike their dreams. Thanks to those dreams, thousands of photographers are trained over 27 years. Later on, the center was moved to Reşatbey District and to a couple of more places in no less than 6 years. At last, the association headquarter was moved to its current location Kasım Gülek Photography and Art Gallery, constructed in memory of Kasım Gülek, a famous politician from Adana, by his family. In a quarter century's time, the association contributed the promotion of the city and even the country. In the endeavour to become a federation, AFAD was one of the founder associations of Turkish Art Photography Federation. In 1995, AFAD tragically lost its 13 members in a car accident. http://www.afad.org.tr/
