Goal Setting - Puzzles Puzzles of the ordinary jigsaw kind give us a fantastic analogy for helping to define your goals. Read and think about the following statements. You will realise how important it is to set goals and targets for yourself - and what fun it can be! 1. You know what looks like when it is done. 2. You know the rules to play by. 3. If you force a piece into the wrong place, it won't fit for very long. 4. If a piece won't fit now, you know you can leave it and fit it in the right place when you have more pieces in place. 5. You get short-term wins and know that these wins will contribute to the whole picture. 6. Everything you do contributes towards ultimate success. 7. You believe you will get it done. 8. You can leave it for a while, take a break, and continue later from exactly where you left off. 9. Your mind will give you answers helping to sort the write bits because it knows exactly what you want. 10. It's fun to do. 11. You can't blame anyone else for not completing it. 12. You make great connections between seemingly unconnected pieces. 13. There is a fantastic sense of achievement on completion. 14. You can go as fast or as slow as you like. 15. People like to help you because they know the goal and will be able to where you're headed. 16. You get absorbed and a sense of flow is achieved. 17. It gives you focus and clarity. 18. You don't try to put pieces in from someone else's puzzle, but you can use 'creative emulation'! 19. You need the right surface, the right environment, and the right people to work with. 20. If you haven't got a puzzle of your own, then you are probably a piece in somebody else's puzzle.
