Describe the features we will be using in MS Word 2. Participants continue to practice and explore the skills 50 min Think.com 1. Download cats_v_dogs.doc and have participants finish the assignment. 2. Introduce the Think.com site. 3. Have participants log into Think.com as “students” in Ms Morrison’s class and read their assignment, which includes voting in a class poll on pets and posting a scaffolded writing assignment to their own student Think.com page. 4. Participants post the writing assignment, then read two other assignments and leave comments on stickies for the authors. 5. Debrief possible uses for Think.com and explain how to get a free account. Participants pair share: Do you remember when the Internet first came into your classroom/or teaching situation? 2. Show the http://kferenz.blogspot.com on the screen. Point out – the url, the contextual clues for reading and posting to this blog. 3. Participants go to the blog site, read and post a comment (open ended either a response or their own story) Allow time for each participant to post 4. Refresh the screen and demo how we now have everyone’s comment visible. This is an example of distributed and collaborative learning – the knowledge is distributed among the bloggers and this is a collaborative writing exercise. 5. PPT Slide show – talk through the 12 slides (talking points are on the presenter nvotes of the slides 6. If there was time we would start our own bog. Use www.blogger.com.
