               Abstract: Information is crucial for the performance of a supply chain
               because it offers the basis on which the managers from the supply chain field
               can take decisions. Information technology consists of the tools used for
               obtaining the information that can lead to a higher performance of the supply
               chain. This study shows the importance of information, its usage, and the
               technologies which allow the managers of the supply chain to use the
               information for taking the best decisions. This paperwork is based on the
               most recent studies and research in the logistics field.
