September 2008 – YA Events
10th, Wednesday – Making Sense of Bioethics presented by Fr. Tad Pacholczyk, PhD – 7:00pm Join us at Jack Quinn’s, 21 South Tejon St., to listen to on of the country’s most sought-after speakers on bioethics from the Catholic perspective, followed by the chance to ask him questions about any hot bioethics topic. This is a rare opportunity you will not want to miss! Fr. Tad Pacholczyk earned his doctorate in neuroscience from Yale University and did post-doctoral work at Harvard University. He is a priest of the diocese of Fall River, MA, and serves as the director of education at The National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia. The Metro-North Deanery is sponsoring a day at St. Francis Parish in Colorado Springs. There will be a cost that includes seminar materials and lunch. More information to come! Come here one of the most amazing journey’s of faith you’ve ever heard…from hard core gang leader, to a conversion in solitary confinement, to youth minister and founder of a gang rehabilitation program in L.A. We were only able to get William on a Sunday afternoon, but his story is so amazing we had to schedule Theology on Tap around him. Bishop Conley is a convert to Catholicism. He served as a priest for 23 years before his Episcopal Ordination, including 10 years of service to the Holy Father as an official in the Vatican Congregation for Bishops in Rome. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him auxiliary bishop of Denver on April 10, 2008.
