Speed Croquet Tournament Rules 1) Each team member starts at the beginning stake and plays in sequence, as determined by the colors on the croquet post. A ball must come to a COMPLETE REST before it is hit again or another team member starts his turn. When the player's ball passes through the first 2 wickets, the player is awarded 2 additional shots. Each time the player's ball passes at least 50% through a single wicket, going forward on the course, the player is awarded ONE additional shot. One bonus shot may be earned by striking on another player's ball, limited to ONE time per ball between each wicket. 5) A ball hit out of the course automatically terminates that player's turn. The ball must be placed where it went out-ofbounds within one mallet head of the outof-bounds marker. Your team mate may NOT START their turn until the ball is placed in bounds ready to start their next turn. Each player has completed the course when their ball clearly strikes the post behind the dual wickets at the stake from which they started. The game is completed when the LAST player has completed the course. (It is NOT NECESSARY that the players finish in the same sequential order that was necessary to start the game.) A 10 second penalty will be assessed for any rule violations. Each team will be given one penalty warning. 2) 3) 4) 6) 7) 8) There is a 10 minute limit per team round. There will be 2 qualifying rounds per team to qualify for the final rounds. The championship round/rounds will be played by the teams with the lowest times in the first 2 qualifying rounds. The winner will be the team which completes the championship round in the least amount of time. PLAY BALL AND HAVE FUN!!!!!
