PUBLIC FORUM
File: 01-21-07 Tracy Chapman-Stone, referring to page one of the minutes said that Aquaticare is not a charitable trust but a private company. A charitable trust would be created to run the Te Awamutu Events Centre. He stated his concerns, as a ratepayer, regarding the contract between Council and H20 being renewed and safety issues which are not currently addressed at the Events Centre.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
File: 6.1 01-21-13 Minutes of Meeting held on 14 March 2006 was included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/081 That the minutes of the meeting of the Te Awamutu Community Board held on 14 March 2006, having been circulated, be taken as read and confirmed as a correct record. Hall/Barnes RESOLVED 6/06/082 That the following is included in item 5 on page one of the minutes - “Aquaticare would manage the Te Awamutu Events Centre and that a charitable trust be formed to assist people to use the facilities”. Roberts/Barnes Matters Arising 6.1.1 Safer Community Council File: 01-21-07 Following the trip to Thames; a submission will be made to the Long Term Council Community Plan applying for $80,000 to establish a Safer Community Council as a district wide council. A successful meeting was held with the Senior Sergeant of Police, Community Constable and Chairpersons of Te Awamutu and Cambridge Community Boards. 6.1.2 Walkway to Kihikihi File: 55-35-01 Tenders have been called for the construction of the walkway.

6.2 Minutes of meeting held on 21 March and 4 April 2006 were included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/083 That the minutes of the meeting of the Te Awamutu Community Board held on 21 March, having been circulated, be taken as read and confirmed as a correct record. Barnes/Hall RESOLVED 6/06/084 That the minutes of the meeting of the Te Awamutu Community Board held on 4 April 2006, having been circulated, be taken as read and confirmed as a correct record subject to the correction that Board Member Twidle and not Board Member Hall, departed early. 7.1 Te Awamutu Brass File: 01-48-02 Minutes of the meeting held on 15 March 2006 were included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/085 That the minutes of the meeting of Te Awamutu Brass held on 15 March 2006 be received. Hall/Martin-Page 7.2 Te Awamutu Alive File: 20-07-02 Minutes of the meeting held on 28 March 2006 will be included in the agenda for the meeting on 9 May 2006. 7.3 Waipa Community Arts Council File: 20-08-14 Minutes of the meeting held on 20 March 2006 were included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/086 That the minutes of the meetings of Waipa Community Arts Council held on 20 March 2006 be received. Hall/Martin-Page A very successful Arts Trail was held recently which will be held again in future. Could become an icon for Te Awamutu.

7.4 Te Awamutu Committee File: 33-09-02 Citizens Advice Bureau Management

Minutes of the meeting held on 3 March 2006 and reports dated 10 and 13 February 2006 were included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/087 That the minutes of the meeting of Te Awamutu Citizens Advice Bureau Management Committee held on 3 March 2006 and reports dated 10 and 13 February 2006 be received. Hall/Martin-Page Board Member Hall said he would be available to attend a meeting of the Te Awamutu Citizens Advice Bureau if the Board representatives were happy for him to do so. 7.5 Temple Cottage Committee File: 04552/100.00 Minutes of the ordinary Meeting held on 15 March 2006 were included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/088 That the minutes of the ordinary Meeting of Temple Cottage Committee held on 15 March 2006 be received. Hall/Martin-Page 7.6 Te Awamutu Health and Welfare Forum File: 01-85-01 Minutes of the meeting held on 4 March 2006 were included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/089 That the minutes of the meeting of the Te Awamutu Health and Welfare Forum held on 4 March 2006 be received. Hall/Martin-Page RESOLVED 6/06/090 That Te Awamutu Community Board send a letter to Peter Hannam of Housing Corporation New Zealand requesting that he inform the Board of the housing needs in Te Awamutu. 8.1.1 Community Services Report File: 01-84-03 Due to the change in the Board’s meeting dates the Community Services Report is unavailable this month. 8.1.2 Treasury Report File: 75-16-09 Report of Group Manager Finance dated 10 March 2006 was included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/091 That the report of the Group Manager Finance for the period ended 28 February 2006 be received. Roberts/Martin-Page

REQUEST FOR FUNDS – TE AWAMUTU CROQUET CLUB (INC)
File: 4482/174.00 A letter from the Te Awamutu Croquet Club providing an update of their building progress and requesting $3,453 to cover the total cost of the installation of heat pump units was included in the agenda. RESOLVED 6/06/093 That the letter dated 24 March 2006 from Te Awamutu Croquet Club (Inc) be received. Martin-Page/Hall Jean Paterson of the Te Awamutu Croquet Club advised members that the building was almost completed. The necessary piping for the heat pumps are fitted in the building but there is a shortfall of $3,453 to purchase the heat pumps. RESOLVED 6/06/094 That the Te Awamutu Community Board approve $3,453 from the Minor Community Works fund to the Te Awamutu Croquet Club Incorporated to enable the purchase and installation of heat pumps. NOTICE OF MOTION – NEW ZEALAND COMMUNITY BOARD FORUM
File: 01-21-07 A Notice of Motion from Chairperson Taylor. RESOLVED 6/06/095 That the Te Awamutu Community Board approves the payment of costs associated with the attendance of the Chairperson or the Deputy Chairperson at the New Zealand Community Boards Forum 2006 in Wellington on 13 – 15 July. NOTICE OF MOTION – TE AWAMUTU ROSE GARDENS
File: 01-51-08 A Notice of Motion from Chairperson Taylor. RESOLVED 6/06/096 That the Te Awamutu Community Board recommend that Council, in discussions with Te Awamutu Rose Trust, restore Te Awamutu Rose Gardens to a state befitting The Rosetown of New Zealand. Taylor/Barnes

Chairperson Taylor distributed supporting information including coloured photos illustrating the following – tree roots impinging on the footpath; the brick fence and pillars in disrepair; tall trees which need to be removed. The fountain needs repairing and lights should be included for security reasons and to highlight aspects of the garden. The Te Awamutu Rose Trust would like the original design of the fence reinstated. The fence protects the garden from unauthorised vehicles entering the garden.

NOTICE OF MOTION – HISTORIC TREES REGISTER
File: 01-68-01 A Notice of Motion from Board Member Barnes. RESOLVED 6/06/097 That the Te Awamutu Community Board recommend to Council that a register of historic trees in Kihikihi / Te Awamutu be set up. Barnes/Martin-Page Board Member Barnes said that Max Quirk of the Waipa Heritage Council suggested the old oak trees at Kihikihi School as an example. Assistance from the community would be required to indicate trees that could be included.

The next meeting of the Te Awamutu Community Board will be held at 7.00 pm on Tuesday, 9 May 2006 in Council Chambers, Waipa District Council, 101 Bank Street, Te Awamutu.

WAIKATO PRIMARY HEALTH ORGANISATION
File: 01-21-07 Community Planning and Governance Manager requested members to suggest community health projects that the Local Management Group of the Waikato Primary Health Organisation could consider for funding. The role of the Local Management Group is to consider the population health needs of their local community and allocate service to improve access (SIA) funding using a ‘virtual budget’. Any member of the community can put forward a health project for the LMG to consider. Community Planning and Governance Manager took note of health projects as suggested by Board Members.
