For January and April 2008 batch, two patterns to conduct practical sessions have been prescribed. Pattern 1: Practical sessions on 9 topics only; - Topic Web authoring omitted - Topic Database Management system with lowered difficulty level.

• In view of the difficulty faced by Learners to grasp all the skills desired at the end of the MS-CIT, this change is being incorporated from January 2008 batch. • To understand the scope of the practical skills to be covered for Database Management System, please refer the Day Wise Break Up-Pattern 1 on MS-CIT website.

Syllabus: January and April 08 Batch Practical: Pattern 2: Objectives
• Web Authoring and hands on knowledge of Database Management System is very much a necessity to be an IT Literate. • Therefore, these two topics have been retained in the syllabus and also the multimedia content is made available. • This can be offered to those bright Learners who can really find it intellectually challenging to learn these application softwares.
• To cater to this need, alternate schedule, i.e. Pattern 2 is being proposed.

• eContent for Practical skills covered in MS-CIT syllabus is being made available on LAN Based Learning Management System at all ATCs • This eContent is in Multimedia form with rich voice over, interactive and practice sessions giving the Learners a „Learning by Doing‟ experience. • eContent is being packaged in SCORM international standards followed internationally for eLearning Content Packaging.

• No Tutor CD shall be given to Learners along with the book • However, in case Learner(s) wish to have a Tutor CD to carry home, ATC can offer it as a paid service. • MKCL has sent the Master copy of Tutor CD to each ATC. • ATC can replicate the CD locally and given it to the Learner. • Charges to offer this service are given below: – Rs 5/- if the Learner brings a blank CD – Rs. 15/- if blank CD is provided by ATC

Interim Performance Tests

• Learner has to solve EIGHT (8) Interim Performance Tests (IPT) during the MS-CIT course. • These tests shall be made available to Learners on the LAN Based Learning Management at the ATC • This change is applicable from January 2008 batch itself.

Examinations:

Interim Performance Tests

• Learners have to appear and pass all the IPTs to be eligible to appear for MS-CIT Final Online Examination. • Result data of IPTs for each Learner has to be uploaded to SOLAR using Learning Management System on stipulated dates.

• Learners who have successfully passed first 5 IPTs, will be eligible to appear for Final Online Examination. – Hall Tickets shall be generated only for these learners. – Provisional Certificate shall have following disclaimer printed on it: “This provisional certificate is valid only if the Learner successfully passes in all the Interim Performance Tests”

• LAN Based Learning Management System (LAN LMS) has to be installed at ATC • This framework is being made available to each ATC in form of CD • Details about installation of LAN LMS and its functionality have been made available in ATC login.

• Phase 2: Integral assignment based test at LLC • Examination Location – LLC Location • In OnCeT Phase 2, only those candidates who have successfully cleared Phase 1, will have to solve the Integral Assignment based test. • Candidates passed in Phase 2 are eligible for Final Examination, i.e. Phase 3

• Phase 3: Final comprehensive test at RLC for short listed candidates in presence of MKCL representative • Examination Location – RLC Location • Final Supervised Comprehensive Examination will be conducted at RLC location under the supervision of MKCL representative. • Candidates passed in Final Examination will be awarded OnCeT Certificate.
