POA PUTS SOME HOME REMEDIES TO THE TEST
Here are the remedies that actually work and save you money at the drug store...

General Wellbeing and Weight Reduction: Every day, mix ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar, ½ cup honey and 32 ounces of water. Drink four, 8-ounce glasses of mixture every day to keep arteries clean, reduce weight and stay healthy. Headaches: Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately -- without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional "pain relievers". Flu: When you feel it coming on: Crush two cloves of garlic and swallow with lots of water. Take two aspirin and swallow with water. Mix ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar, ½ cup Honey and ¼ cup hot water. Drink. Take a hot bath to open the pores. Turn the room temperature to 80 degrees and go to bed and sweat. The next day you will feel better. Or, to relieve achy muscles associated with the flu, mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish and I cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles. Sore Throat: Mix ¼ cup of vinegar with ¼ cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day until the mixture is gone.

Urinary Tract Infections: Just dissolve two tablets of Alka-Seltzer in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly -- even though the product has never been advertised for this use. Arthritis Pain: Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.

Leg Cramps: Sleep with a bar of regular bar soap like Ivory or Coast. Make sure it’s next to your skin. Leg cramps will be gone the next day. For those who get leg cramps during long drives, duct tape a bar of soap to your arm or stomach while driving and you will not get leg cramps while driving. Burns: Colgate or Crest toothpaste make excellent salves for minor burns. We hear it makes a good silver polish too. If you burn your tongue, put sugar on it for relief. Sunburns: empty a large jar of Nestea into your bath water and soak for several minutes for immediate relief. Acne: Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight. Or, if you want to remove blackheads and exfoliate dead skin, coat your face with Elmer’s Glue, let dry completely then peel off the glue. Aging around eyes and puffiness: Place Preparation H pads on closed eyes for a few minutes to eliminate puffiness and reduce the signs of aging. Quick Dry for Nail Polish: Pam Cooking Spray. Toenail or Fingernail Fungus: Soak your toes in Listerine mouthwash or rub on Vicks Vapor Rub. Hair Conditioner/Shiny Hair: Budweiser beer, Cool Whip or Mayonnaise are all great conditioners (use separately) and brewed Lipton Tea adds shine to hair. Bruising: Soak a cotton ball in Heinz white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process. Boils: Cover the boil with Hunt's tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head. Broken Blisters: To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine... a powerful antiseptic. Splinters: Pour a drop of Elmer's Glue all over the splinter, let dry and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue. Paper cuts: Krazy Glue or chap stick. Heavy dandruff: Pour on the vinegar. Stinky feet: Jello. Athletes feet: Cornstarch

Eliminate ear mites... All it takes is a few drops of Wesson Corn Oil in your cat’s ear. Massage it in then wipe with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which loaf is the freshest? From now on, take the guess work out of buying the freshest bread. Bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different color twist tie or plastic clip. They are:
Monday (blue) Tuesday (green) Thursday (red) Friday (white) Saturday (yellow)

So, buy the bread having the twist tie or clip color on or immediately before your shopping day.

KIDS PLAY
• Make a fun (and edible) finger paint for kids by mixing Kool Aid and Dannon plain yogurt. Make Body paint for kids by mixing Crisco with food coloring. Heat the Crisco in the microwave, pour in to an empty film container and mix with the food color of your choice. Let cool to room temperature before applying to skin. Make a Tie Dye T-shirt - mix a solution of Kool Aid in a container, tie a rubber band around a section of the T-shirt and soak. Cornstarch will help Barbie’s clothes slide on to her skinny little body.
