Who’s Who ______________________________________
JOHNNY DEEM (Ralphie) is thrilled to be in his first national tour! He is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and is originally from Upstate New York. Most recently he was seen in the original cast of Megillah: The Story of Ester. He would like to thank his family and friends for all their love and support. CLAIRE DUNCAN (MILA) is an actress, singer, and dancer who has appeared in over a dozen musicals, plays, and award-winning films. Originally from Canada, she holds an Honors Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Toronto. Most recently, she made her Off-Broadway debut as the lead in a new play, Celebration of Life, at the Soho Playhouse, and in the musical Booth! at the Skirball Center. Some of her favorite credits include Oklahoma! (Laurie), Hamlet (Ophelia), and a touring production of Lessons On The A Train, directed by Tonynominated writer Reg E. Gaines. www.claireduncan.net BENJAMIN K. GLASER (Jigsaw Jones) is thrilled to be making his ArtsPower debut with Jigsaw Jones and the Case of the Class Clown. Some past favorite productions include Muffin Man (NYC Fringe), Bryant in the Park (art.party), Angels in America, The Fantasticks, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (WTF Workshop), UNBOUND (Powerhouse), and The Comedy of Errors (HVSF). Ben hails from Nanuet, New York and has a B.A. in English from Harvard University. He would like to thank all of his friends and family, especially Mom, Dad, and Aaron, for their unending love and support. JILL KURZNER (Helen/Athena) is thrilled to be in the ArtsPower production Jigsaw Jones. Past credits include NJYT productions of Anything Goes, Ragtime, Guys and Dolls, and the reading of Midnight Madness performed at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Jill earned her B.A. in Theater at Muhlenberg College. Thank you to Robert DuSold, Robert Marks, and Katie Kriesler. A most special thank you to her Mom, Dad and brother for their incredible love and support. Love to her family and friends! ROBYN LEE (Stage Manager) comes to ArtsPower from Creative Stages Entertainment, where she stage managed Bricolage... a Musical and the aptly titled Creative Stages. also served as production assistant for Live from Lincoln Center: Audre McDonald Special (also Beverly Sills' personal liaison), and as a costume designer for First Frontier's productions of Rashamon and The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged. She also served as a PA for the film "Stranger's W/ Movie" and marketing and promotions for Country Music Television. GARY BLACKMAN (Executive Producer) Gary Blackman co-founded ArtsPower in 1985 with his identical twin brother, Mark. Their Journey Into Jazz production was ArtsPower's cornerstone production and presented nearly 1,000 performances and artist residencies throughout much of the nation. In 1989, they became an Actors' Equity Association producer of musicals and dramas. Today, Gary serves as ArtsPower's managing director. Gary received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Columbia College, Columbia University and earned a Master's degree in Music Education from the School of Music at Florida State University. He is also a graduate of the Commercial Theatre Institute. Gary, his wife Amy, and their daughter Emma live in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. MARK BLACKMAN (Executive Producer) is ArtsPower’s founding co-director and currently serves as director of development. He is a graduate of Columbia College, Columbia University and received his Masters of Music Education degree from Florida State University's School of Music. He is also a graduate of the Commercial Theatre Institute. Mark is responsible for ArtsPower’s fundraising and marketing efforts. In a former life, Mark was a jazz saxophone player who was recognized by Downbeat magazine with a “db Student Recording Award” while at FSU. In 1984, he was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to study for a year with jazz recording artist Eddie Daniels. Mark, his wife Leslie, his daughter Alyssa, and their dog Alex live in Montclair. GREG GUNNING (Artistic Director) Greg hails from Chicago, Illinois and is the man behind ArtsPower’s on-stage magic. He has written every ArtsPower production since 1989. Greg auditions and rehearses ArtsPower’s theatre companies each semester in addition to creating at least one new production each year. A graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and a former actor, Greg has performed in 38 states across the country. RICHARD DEROSA (Composer & Orchestrator) Richard orchestrated the scores to ArtsPower's Fourscore and Seven Years Ago, Olympic Spirit: The Jesse Owens Story and Beyond the Miracle. He composed and orchestrated the scores to ArtsPower's Anne of Green Gables, Laura Ingalls Wilder: Growing Up on the Prairie, Terrifically Tilly, A Little Princess, Caddie Woodlawn, Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great, Salem Justice, Are You My Mother? Anastasia Krupnik, Highlights for Children, Hans Brinker & the Silver Skates, Lily's Crossing, The Little Engine That Could Earns Her Whistle, From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, Mike Mulligan & His Steam Shovel and The Rainbow Fish, Amber Brown is Not A Crayon, My Heart in A Suitcase and Harry the Dirty Dog. Mr. DeRosa is a respected jazz drummer and arranger and has toured and recorded with Gerry Mulligan, Susannah McCorkle, Jackie and Roy, and many other world-class jazz musicians. He is a tenured faculty member at William Paterson University's School of Music in Wayne, New Jersey where he teaches composition, arranging, and jazz improvisation. Mr. DeRosa is also

affiliated with Jazz at Lincoln Center as an arranger for Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He recently began teaching an orchestration class in the jazz department at the Juilliard School. FRED SORRENTINO (Costumer) Fred has designed and built the costumes for ArtsPower’s Beyond the Miracle, Laura Ingalls Wilder: Growing Up on the Prairie, Anne of Green Gables, Hans Brinker & the Silver Skates, A Little Princess, Terrifically Tilly, Salem Justice, Caddie Woodlawn, Are You My Mother? Anastasia Krupnik, Highlights for Children, Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great, Lily’s Crossing, The Little Engine That Could; Earns Her Whistle, From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, Mike Mulligan And His Steam Shovel, and The Rainbow Fish, Amber Brown is Not A Crayon, My Heart in A Suitcase, and Harry the Dirty Dog. Fred is a gifted musician having earned a Bachelor’s degree in voice from Jersey City (NJ) State College. A veteran performer in both operatic and musical theatre productions, Mr. Sorrentino now maintains a busy schedule designing and building costumes.
