1. Setting Up Email Account in Microsoft Outlook
1. Click “Start”, and open “Control Panel”.




2. In “Address” of Control Panel, type “mail” and press enter.

3. Click “Show Profiles” button.




4. Click “Add” button.

5. Type your name, for example, CollegeMail in “Profile Name” and click “OK”.




6. Choose “Add a new e-mail account” and then click “Next” button.




7. Choose “Microsoft Exchange Server” and then click “Next” button

8. Type-in the following information
8.1 “stfmsx01.staff.cpce.hk” in “Microsoft Exchange Server” and check the box “Use
    Cached Exchange Mode”
8.2 Type your username in “User Name”
8.3 Click “More Settings” button

9. Please wait a moment and a dialogue box will be prompted. Click “OK” to continue.

12. Do the following steps
12.1 Check the box “Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft
      Exchange Server”

13. Do the following steps
13.1 Check the box “Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP”
13.2 Click “Exchange Proxy Settings” button.

14. In “Exchange Proxy Settings”
14.1 Type “mm.cpce-polyu.edu.hk” in “Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for
     Exchange”
14.2 Check the box “Connect using SSL only”
14.3 Check the box “Mutually authenticate the session when connecting with SSL”
14.4 Type “msstd:mm.cpce-polyu.edu.hk” in “Principal name for proxy server:”
14.5 Check the box “On fast networks……”
14.6 Check the box “On slow networks……”
14.7 Choose “Basic Authentication” in “Use this authentication when ……” list

18. Choose “Prompt for a profile to be used” and click “OK” button.

2. Using Outlook

1. Click “Start”, go to “Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Outlook 2003




2. Choose predefined profile in “Profile Name” list, we use “CollegeMail” as profile name
in this guide. Please click “OK” button afterwards.

 3. Type “staff\username” in “User name”, your password in “Password”, and click “OK”
      button. (For example, your username is cchappy, please type-in staff\cchappy.)

3.Note for Novell GroupWise
If you found you cannot open GroupWise client after Outlook setup, and see the screen
shown as below, please reinstall GroupWise client.
