PL-600 IP PBX(Hereinafter referred to IP PBX) is based on Asterisk system, supplying 8 FXO or FXS ports, or any combination of FXS/FXO. Here introducing basic of operation based on 4 FXS/ 4FXO version. 2. Ready for Installation

Before configuration and operation, the administrator of PBX needs to check and confirm the follow items in advance. 2.1. Confirm IP address of IP PBX to be static or DHCP (strongly suggest as static one); for static, both IP address for WAN port and LAN port need to be assigned. Meanwhile message of gateway and DNS server should be collected 2.2. Define number length of extension line; extension number group and which extension line connected to analog phone. 2.3. How many PSTN lines to connect to PBX and how extensions to dialing out (like directly or with pre-digit number, 9, 0 or other) 2.4. Which ports supporting lifelive function, that is, in case of power fail, these ports will connected and normal PSTN line available. 2.5. 2.6. VoIP server message, like server IP address, port, account and password. One PC installed Mozilla Firefox or IE, which used to access IP PBX-LAN port

(192.168.0.100 / 255.255.255.0). 2.7. SIP, IAX, or soft phone connected to LAN.

3. Hardware Installation
3.1Check List PL-600 IP PBX-1pc; Straight Ethernet cable-1 pc; one universal power adapter-1 pc, one CD-1pc; user manual-1 pc; 3.2 Power on unit, all LED flashing till unit boot. LED 1,3,5,7 light as red, which means port 1,3,5,7 connected to PSTN line. 3.3 connect internet cable to WAN port; connect LAN cable to LAN port, both LED light on front panel. 3.4 connect PSTN line to FXO port: 1,3,5,7; connect analog phone (extension line) to FXS ports,2,4,6,8. Note: on front panel, green LED indicating extension line state; red LED indicating PSTN line state. While extension line connected, pick up phone handset, dial tone shall get.

4. Login
For first configuration, please connect PC to LAN port of IP PBX, and default IP-LAN is 192.168.0.100. Set the same range IP address at PC side, to make sure we can access IP PBX.

5. Basic configure
5.1. Option

Click button “Option” on left panel to enter basic configure page as below:

Global OutBound CID: default outgoing call number for outgoing VoIP call. This setting will active only while caller ID setting not done in: Caller ID number set in extension; Caller ID number set for relay line Operator Extension: to assign one extension as IP PBX operator. Ring Timeout: to define ringing duration for extension line. Extension preferences: to group extension line for different feature, such as in above page, extensions line number are between 6000-6299; extension line in conference room are between 6300-6399; and which extension number applied

features as Voice Menu, Ringing Group, Queue line, Voice Mail. Change Password: to changing the Admin password.

Reboot: to reboot unit or set unit to factory configuration.

Advanced Options: click to extend some more configure, like: Update Firmware, Call Detail Records, File Editor, IAX Settings, SIP Settings as below.

5.2.

Networking

Click “Networking & Country Settings” to modify IP address.

As mentioned in above, initially we set IP PBX as static address, now set IP address as desired, save and go to reboot menu to reboot unit.

6. Add user
6.1. Set default dial plan

Default dial plan must be created before add extension users. Click menu “Dial Plans” to enter the configure page as below:

Click “New DialPlan” to create new dial plan, click “Edit” or “Delete” to edit or delete ready dial plan. Please note default dial plan “DialPlan1” can not delete. Now to create /edit default dial plan as below:

DialPlan Name:name of dial plan. Include Outgoing Calling Rules : to define which outgoing dialing rule applied. Include Local Contexts:to define functions available for extension, which chose present DialPlan. Note: After setting default dial plan, all dialing regulation between extensions is defined. While created any new dial plan, it must be added here to carry out.

6.2.

Add user

Click “Users “to enter to the User Management page as below:

The list will show all the existing users, chose one or some for edit or delete. There are 4 menu on the top: Create New User:to add new extension user; Bulk add users:to add in bulk Delete:to delete user Modify selected users:to modify selected user Click Create New User, and got menu as below

General: Extension: extension number, no repeat and length must match the value set in menu. Name: user of extension name, i.e. “Bob Jones ”. DialPlan: to chose Dial Plans which set in “ Dial Plans “ menu. Caller ID: to set outgoing number which will show in called side, Default is blank as same as extension number. Outbound Call ID: Caller ID that would be applied for out bound calls. Only applied while making outgoing cal via VoIP line. Enable Voicemail for this user: while checked, if calling not pick up, voicemail feature will activate automatically. Voicemail Access Pin code: Voicemail password for this extension user to check.

Technology SIP: to define SIP protocol used with the extension device. IAX: to define IAX protocol used with the extension device.. Analog Station: to define which FXS port assigned to this extension number. i.e. Checking Port# 2 , which means this extension connected to port 2 got number as 5831 Flash: to define flash duration, while PBX got flash signal from analog or IP extension. . Default value of Flash duration is 750 ms.

RXFlash: to define the max duration for flash, if PBX got flash signal out of this value, PBX will ignore it and take it as line break. Codec Preference:max 5 Codec type can be set, and it must matching VoIP extension phone, otherwise call might not be established. VoIP Settings VoIP

MAC Address: input IP extension MAC. Line Number: while IP extension supports multi-line, this value need to set as desired. SIP/IAX Password: The password for the user’s SIP/IAX account. NAT: while PBX and IP extension are not in the same IP address segment ( i.e. IPPBX set in office, SIP extension at home or another place), this option shall be chose to enable NAT, meanwhile in another configure page: SIP Settings/NAT, enable “NAT SUPPORT”, and in router mapping port 5060 /10001- 10200 to IPPBX(best way is to set IP PBX address in router – DMZ).

Can Reinvite: generally PBX transfer audio stream during conversion, while this enable,

PBX will negotiate with caller and called party to establish direct audio stream for better voice quality and saving network resource. DTMF mode: default is rfc2833, others options including info (SIP INFO MESSAGE), inband/relay (Inband/relay audio), auto (firstly rfc2833, if not then try other). Insecure: incoming call authenticate, options are: no / Port /Invite/both. Port: allows matching of peers by IP address without matching port number. Invite : removes the requirement for authentication of incoming INVITE messages. Port,Invite:allows both the matching of peers by IP address without matching port number and removes the requirement for authentication of incoming INVITE messages. No: requires normal IP-based matching and authenticated INVITES." Other Options

3-Way Calling: to define the feature available. In directory: to define that if this extension list in first state page. Call Waiting:to define the feature available or not. CTI:While enabled, other application can login IP PBX and manage. Is Agent:to define the extension as operator or not. Pickup Group:while enabled one more menu shown as below:

This extension can be registered as one of any 20 group. For extensions in the same group, any extension can pick up phone call in the same extension group, by press key *8.

6.3.

Bulk Add Users

Click “Bulk Add” to add batch users, all users are in same configure, except number and password. I.e. click “Users”, and chose one exist user like “5800”, click “Batch Add” to get below page, input start number as 5850, the last number as 5869, password as 123456, then click “Update” to finish.

Note: during batch add process, if any exist number in the range, the former configure will be overwrite.

7. Dial Outbound Calls
Relay and router need to be set firstly. 7.1. Set trunks

Both SIP/IAX and analog PSTN relay available.

Create PSTN trunks

Now IPPBX has 4 FXO analog PSTN connection. Click ”Trunks”, get window as below

Click ”New Analog Trunk” and select Analog Port 1, 3, 5, 7 in sub option (show in the follow picture) set all value accordingly then click “Save” to confirm.

Create VoIP trunk

Click”VoIP TRUNKS”, then ”New SIP/IAX Trunk”

Type:to chose SIP or IAX based IP server or upper PBX Provider Name:IP relay name Hostname:IP server DNS or IP address Username:account name Password:account password Click Save to exit

7.2.

Calling Rules

Click Calling Rules to create dialing regulation. Here supposing calling rule as below: -call directly between extension; -all outbound call start with “9”; -FXO line connected to another PBX, and dialing out needing “0” firstly; -for local PSTN call via PSTN line, pre-code of 0 needed; -for DDD call via PSTN line, pre-code of 17951 needed; -IDD call via VoIP server, outbound code of 9 need to remove; detail showing as below form. type

Now configure unit as below: Firstly, create dialing rules for IDD call:

That is, all dialed number started as 900, will be delete 900, then send to IP relay; If IP relay is invalid, the number will be sent to PSTN relay. Second, create DDD calling rules:

That is, all start as “90” will be process as DDD call, remove 9, and add 17951, dialing via FXO/PSTN line. Last, create local calling rules:

That is, all number start as 9 will be processed as local call, remove 9 and dial out via PSTN line. After setting you can get the following configure page:

Note: above calling rules shall be well designed, like the turn set as 900, 90, 9, the last one is most simple. Finally, Click ”Dial Plan”, select the Dial Plan, and select the out calling rules that we created .

8. Incoming Call
Firstly, define IVR, like “welcome to call PROOLIN VOIP! Please dial extension directly, for operator, press 0”.

8.1.

Record Voice

Click” Voice Menu Prompts”, then click “Record a new voice menu prompt”。

Input file name such as “welcome” and assign one extension for voice recording, click “Record” button to start recording. Then assigned extension will ring, pick up the handset and start recording. After recording, hang off handset and press the “refresh”.

8.2.

Set up IVR

Click “Voice menu”, enter to IVR manage page. Then click “New Entry” to create a new IVR.

Name: IVR name. Extension: Used to test IVR. In this case we define it as 7010.Then dial to 7010 to with any other extension. Actions: process step for IVR, adding process possible while in edit process. Dial other Extensions: while enabled, during IVR playing, caller can dial extension directly. Allow Key-Events: i.e. define 0 to connect to operator 6000. Click “Save” to confirm, then Click ”Add a new step”, and chose “background” or “playback” ( “background” PBX will receiving caller’s DTMF tone during playing voice; “playback”- PBX will receiving caller’s DTMF tone after playing voice) Click on the input window, and get voice record list, chose the welcome voice just recorded. Click ”Add new Step” to add process steps; click “Dial other Extensions” to allow caller dial extension directly. Click “Update” to fresh and “SAVE” “Activate change” to quit. Using any other extension to dial test extension / 7010 to check incoming call process configure.

8.3.

Set up Incoming call

Click “Incoming Calling Rules”,then ”New Incoming Rules”, to configure incoming call IVR playing.

Trunk: Select incoming call line relay. Destination: PBX processes, here set as IVR, other options are: extension, call queue or conference meeting. Note: as we chose extension 7010 as IVR test line, here choosing “7010” and “welcome- Voice“ will be same. Now making phone call from PSTN line to IP PBX, to check if all setting working.

9. Voice Mail
In above chapter, voice mail has set for extension, here to set how to access voice mail for check and some voice mail operation feaure. Click “Voicemail” to enter to the following page.

Extensions for checking messages: access number to voice mail. From any extension, dial it, then input extension number and password (set before) to voice message.

10.

Conference

Click “Conferencing” and got page as below:

Extension: access number; dial it to join in conference PIN Code: access password to join in conference. Admin PIN Code: password of conference Administrator. Play hold music for first caller: Play hold music for first conference participator. Enable caller menu: Enable all participators to adjust some conference setting menu after pressing *, like adjust volume and so on. Announce callers: voice alert while new participators join in. Quite mode: In this mode, all participators listen to meeting host.

11.

Call Queues

11.1 Create Queues Click “Call Queues” and got below page:

Above create a queue named 6002 which contains two operators: 1002 and 1003 extension. Extension: Dial this number to access queue Name: Queue name. Strategy: Ringing Strategy, options as below: Ringall: all operator extension ringing at the same time. Roundrobin: all operator extension ringing by turn.

Lastrecent: the last connected extension ringing. Fewestcalls: seldom got connected extension ringing. Random: extension ringing random. Rrmemory: In this mode when call queue the extension rang last time will ring. Timeout : 每个座席最长振铃时间.超过这个时间就向下一个座席振铃." Wrapup time: 间隔时间: 一个座席接听完电话后多长时间可以接听下一个电话.缺省 是 0 秒, 代表无间隔时间." Max lens :最大长度:一个队列最多有多少个来电在等待处理. 不包括正在跟座席通话 的来电,只包括处于等待状态的来电. 缺省是 0, 代表没限制. 如果达到上限, 则后续来电会 听到忙音. Auto fill: 当有很多个并发呼叫进入队列后, 同时处理这些来电并转接入座席,而不是等 一位客户接通座席后再处理下一位客户. Auto pause: 自动暂停: 如果一个座席错过一个来电,则自动将其状态改为暂停. 这意 味这该座席不能再接听来电,需要重新登陆一次了. Report Hold Time:提示等待时间:</B>在接通座席前,向座席提示该来电在队列中的等 候时间. Agents: to list extension number which can be set as operator.

11.1. 队列用户登录 首先我们配置两个特服号码 7000 与 7001 如下图:

完成以上配置, 队列成员分机必须通过拨打以上配置页面中定义的座席登陆特服号码来

PL600 IPPBX User Manual 设置自己的状态。注意这两个特服号码的区别是: 第一个号码登录为座席后不能挂机,当有来电后直接与坐席接通。 例如:队列中的分机用户输入 7000,然后按提示音输入用户名及密码,接通后听到 Hold 音乐声,当有电话呼到队列时,此分机自动接听。 第二个号码登录为座席后可以挂机。等有需要接听的来电后才振铃。 例如:队列中的分机用户输入 7001,然后按提示音输入用户名、密码及接听电话的另 一台分机,当有电话呼到队列时,所设定的接听电话会振铃。

System Recordings Manage
There are many voice record used in voice mail, queue, all default voice file

available in file sounds_addon.tar. Sometimes modification needed and please Click” System Recordings”, enter the system recording management page after around 10s:

If above file not listed, please contact supplier to get voice packages sounds_addon.tar

PL600 IPPBX User Manual and others. Install “sound_addon.tar” via http server (pls refer to the attachment 1). Click ”Upload Sounds Packages”.

Input the correct address, click ”update”.

12.2. Modify System Voice File

Click”Play” in “system voice management “, input extension number for receiving call. IPPBX will call the extension line and play the voice file.

To change the file, firstly prepare the voice file in gsm format. Click “upgrade”, input the location of new voice file, click “update”.

13.

Conversation Control

In “Active Channels” to check conversation state

Select a communication, click “Transfer” and input the extension number to call transfer. In this case, click “Hang-up” to cut communication. Note: a calling may have multi- channel. Pls choice the correct channel to process the operation normally, we should combine the caller information and Channel information (channel type, and called number, etc.) to determine that we are

looking for Record. 选中一个通话,点击“Transfer”按钮,选择一个分机号可以进行呼叫转移。点 击 Hangup 可以挂断当前通话。 例如: 从下图我们可以看出 5800 与 5801 在通话, 现在我们把 5800 转移到 5802。 1.点击 SIP/5800-0108e9e8 生面的 Transfer, 然后出现一个对话框, 从下拉列 表中选择 5802 分机号,点击 Transfer,此时 5801 线路被功断,5802 响铃,5802 只要接听,即 5800 与 5802 建立通话。

注意一个呼叫可能有多个通道, 请选择正确的通道记录来进行操作。 通常我们应该 结合主叫信息和 Channel 信息(通道类型以及被叫号码等)来确定那条记录是我们要找 的。

System Status

Click ”System Status” to get list page as below:

System Backup

Click “Backup”, then click “Create new backup” to input the file name and click “Backup” to create a new backup file.

Click “restore” to restore system in need. Note: only system configure backup. User files such as voice file not backup.

16.

Update System and Maintenance

On back of IPPBX, there is RESET button which used to reset to factory state While update Image file available, update IPPBX firmware via web. Two ways for support: HTTP and TFTP

HTTP 1. Store update file in HTTP server, then in configure page, input HTTP server IP address and filename, click Save

2. Using HTTP tool (tool in update software package) Run “HFS~HTTP File Server”

Add file

Input server IP address and filename, click Save

TFTP Store update file in TFTP server, then in configure page, input TFTP server IP address and filename, click Save.
