JOB DESCRIPTION
1. JOB TITLE: Sheltered Accommodation Scheme Co-OrdinatorResidential – Pendle Court, Clitheroe 37 hours per week Monday to Friday Two Year Fixed Term Contract – Subject To Review Maybe Extended COM263 £12,372 per annum plus 50% rent allowance plus enhancement for dispersed units. Elderly Services and Special Projects Officer To provide a warden service for tenants at Pendle Court, Bolland Close and Bolland Prospect, cover at other schemes and assistance with telecare initiative* as required.

MAIN DUTIES: Contact tenants daily via Intercom with personal visits according to individual support plan arrangements. Keep accurate records on tenant details, update three monthly and pass on to the appropriate officer. Complete individuals support plans and associated documents and review three monthly. Provide a level of support to each tenant as agreed within the support plan and involve relevant agencies etc in order to deliver effective appropriate support. Be able to recognise when a tenant is in need of further services, take appropriate action and liase with other agencies if necessary. Arrange social activities and outings (with catering as required). Set up communal areas etc for functions and be conscious of health and safety aspects. Ensure tenants have signed social activity disclaimer. Ensure communal areas are kept free from clutter and maintain a safe environment for tenants and visitors.

The condition of any external areas and gardens should be inspected regularly and any concerns/maintenance issues reported to relevant officer. Be responsible for supervision of cleaner and ensure cleanliness of building. To deputise for cleaner when on annual leave during sickness etc. Undertake appraisal of cleaner and pass on to line manager. Respond to emergency calls within office hours and out of hours and ensure appropriate action as per procedural manual. Be responsible for the security of scheme keys and tenants’ keys. Letting of and supervision of guest bedroom including receiving and paying in of charges. Test fire alarm/emergency lighting weekly or as required. Provide assisted viewing of dwellings or relevant communal facilities for prospective tenants. Introduce new tenants to the scheme and complete induction documents. Cover other sheltered schemes as required, eg for holiday/sickness absences. Adhere to the Council’s policies including equal opportunities, complaints, health and safety procedures and risk assessments. To attend meetings and training events as required. Report any requests for repairs from tenants and monitor progress. *Provide an emergency response service for Telecare clients as required during office hours. Ensure the Intercom system is functioning at all times and report any faults immediately. Collecting TV licence money and rent payments as required.
