11/2008 CIRCULAR 11/2008
1. FROM THE HEADMASTER’S OFFICE Leaders are dealers in hope Napoleon Bonaparte After a wonderful enriching leadership camp our first head boy and head girl have been elected. Their election was eagerly anticipated by all and I believe that next year’s grade twelves will have wonderful opportunities to display their leadership skills. Congratulations to all the prefects and class representatives that have the task to lead this pioneering group. The majority of gr. 9 learners wrote aptitude tests last week. I would like to invite all the gr. 9 parents to our academic meeting on 09 September which will deal with the learners’ subject choices for next year. We offer a variety of subjects at Midstream College, so come and get first hand information on the new FET curriculum and the consequent subject choices and help your child make one of many important decisions in life. Lastly I would like to invite parents to take hands with the College in the fight against negativity. With spring almost in the air, let’s be positive. May this be the start of a positive tomorrow, not only for Midstream College, but also for our country. As the motto of the Olympic Games states: Citius, Altius, Fortius ‘Swifter, Higher, Stronger’. PS: I hope to see you all on 12 September at our annual cultural highlight, the ‘Barnyard’-like gala evening of our (p)Articipate festival.

MIDSTREAM COUNCIL Our first Head Prefects have been appointed and the inauguration was held on Monday, 11 August. We would like to congratulate the following learners: Head Boy Head Girl Deputy Head Boy Deputy Head Girl : Garreth Gibson : Claudine Briedenhann : Willem Kok : Sibu Mabena
