To Export a CTZ File To Import a CTZ File To Create a CTZ Export Shortcut To Export a Table

Data collected with CyberTracker and stored on one PC can be exported as a CTZ file to CyberTracker on another PC. Data collected on a number of PC's can be exported as a CTZ file to one PC and merged in one CyberTracker database. The CTZ file compresses the data so that large chunks of data can be sent via email. CyberTracker allows you to create a Shortcut on your Desktop that will automatically export data collected over a specified number of preceding days to a folder on your hard drive or directly to a Stiffy Disc (1.44MB Disc) in your (A:) drive. This makes it easy to create a backup of data on a regular basis. Data can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet, as a dBase file, as a Text File and other Geographic Information Systems. By setting up an Export File in an Export Directory, data can be exported by simply clicking on the Export button.

To Export a CTZ File

Select File, Database Manager Right-click on database icon in Database Manager Select Export Select the database elements you want to export. You may chose to export the whole database or only some of the database elements (Data, Classes, Sequences, etc.) Click OK. Select Export Folder to which you want to save data. Type in the File name Click Save. Close the Database Manager [x].

To Import a CTZ File

To Create a CTZ Export Shortcut
CyberTracker allows you to create a Shortcut on your Desktop that will automatically export data collected over a specified number of preceding days to a folder on your hard drive or directly to a Stiffy Disc (1.44MB Disc) in your (A:) drive. This makes it easy to create a backup of data on a regular basis.

To Export Data to a Folder on (C:) Drive:

In Windows Explorer, create an Export Folder on your (C:) drive (call it "ExportFolder"). Right-Click on Desktop. Select New, Shortcut. Select Browse and select Program Files\CyberTracker\CyberTracker.exe Select Next. Type in name for the Shortcut (try to be descriptive). Select Finish. Now go to the Shortcut you just created. Right-Click on the Shortcut and select Properties. Select the Shortcut tab. Click on Target and modify it: "C:\Program Files\CyberTracker\CyberTracker.exe" /X /Database=DatabaseName /Days=100 c:\ExportFolder\ExportFile (Leave a space just before /X and between each option, /Database, /Days and c:\. "DatabaseName" is the name of the database from which you want to export data. Days=100 will specify that data collected over the last 100 days will be exported - the number of days can be changed. "ExportFolder" is the name of the folder on the (C:) drive to which the data will be exported. "ExportFile" is the name of the file containing the data). 12. Select OK. 13. When you now click on the Shortcut, a dialog will appear telling you that it is exporting data. 14. When it is done, you should have the file "ExportFile.CTZ" in C:\ExportFolder.

To Export Data to a Stiffy Disc (1.44MB Disc) in the (A:) Drive:

Right-Click on Desktop. Select New, Shortcut. Select Browse and select Program Files\CyberTracker\CyberTracker.exe Select Next.

Type in name for the Shortcut (try to be descriptive). Select Finish. Now go to the Shortcut you just created. Right-Click on the Shortcut and select Properties. Select the Shortcut tab. Click on Target and modify it: "C:\Program Files\CyberTracker\CyberTracker.exe" /X /Database=DatabaseName /Days=100 a:\ExportFile (Leave a space just before /X and between each option, /Database, /Days and a:\. To Export a Table
When you create a Table (see "To Create a Table"), you can export data to an Excel spreadsheet, a dBase file, or as a Text File.

In Windows Explorer, create an Export Folder to which you want to export the file to. In CyberTracker, Select File, Open or click on Open project icon to open a project file. Select View, Table or click on Table icon. Double-click on Table icon to open the Table. Select View, Properties, or Right-click on the Properties Icon to open the Edit Table Template dialogue. Type in the Field name of each column in the exported table. There are certain restrictions. For example, the field name can't be 'Date' and it can't have spaces in it. If you leave it blank, then the export program autofills them in with strings of the form 'Field1', 'Field2', 'FieldN'. Use the drop-down menu to select the Field type for each column. To preconfigure the output destination for this table, use the General Tab in the Edit Table Template dialogue box to define the Export directory, Export file, and export file type ("Export as"). For Export directory, click on the space and then Right-Click on the button with the three dots [...] to select the Export Folder you created in Windows Explorer. For Export file, fill in the name of the file you want to export. For Export as, use drop-down menu to select the file type (DBase File, Excel Worksheet or Text File). Click OK. Click on the Export icon to export the file to the Export Folder you created in Windows Explorer. Note: If an error message appears saying: "Could not write to export file", then the Field of one or more of the columns may be wrong. Close or minimise CyberTracker and open the file in the format you chose to export it as.
