® YELLOW ACTIVITY MONITORING SYSTEM THE YELLOW SYSTEM ... The answer in low-cost plant fleet monitoring DESCRIPTION The Yellow Activity Monitoring System is a low-cost, low-maintenance system that assists with the management of plant and heavy-vehicle activity. This rugged, fully electronic system provides a means of easily and accurately monitoring the working patterns and running times of a fleet of vehicles. Activity and engine data are recorded, stored, transferred and processed with little or no human intervention. This means that there is very little chance of data loss, corruption or tampering. Accurate reports of fleet or individual vehicle activity may be easily produced using the Windows PC-based software. The system has been developed to replace the ageing, maintenance-intensive, mechanical vibration recorders, and to greatly enhance the processing of vibration and activity data. BENEFITS • • • • • • • • Low purchase and running costs High reliability under harsh working conditions Easy installation and operation Very low maintenance requirements Accurate, tamper-proof data gathering Detailed reports, print-outs and graphs Easy-to-use Windows-based PC software Upgrade options and packages available METHOD OF OPERATION Each vehicle to be monitored is fitted with an Activity Recorder. This is a small, rugged, self-contained unit. In the simplest installation, no electrical connections are required. The user programs the registration number of the vehicle into the Activity Recorder. When operating, the unit records and stores all work vibrations experienced by that vehicle. An enhanced model of the recorder is available that also stores the user-defined category of work being carried out at any one time. Activity is time- and date-stamped, giving a record of up to two standard working weeks. Panel indicators show when vibrations are being recorded. The activity data is collected from the Activity Recorders using a Data Gatherer. This hand-held unit can hold the information from a large number of vehicles. Data is collected by simply pressing the Data Gatherer into the Activity Recorder adapter socket for a few seconds. The collected activity data is transferred from the Data Gatherer into a Personal Computer via a Desk Reader. Windows-based PC software allows the user to set up a database of a vehicle fleet. Data received from the Data Gatherer is automatically assigned to the appropriate vehicles. A wide range of reports and graphs may then be generated, viewed and printed. Checks, safety features and on-line help in the software ensure that the entire system may be operated with minimal training and high degree of confidence. ® YELLOW ACTIVITY MONITORING SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS ACTIVITY RECORDERS (VR081 and VR081R) Data Capacity Measurements Power Requirements Battery Life Indicators and Controls Size Weight Environmental Mounting Requirements 114 hours or a recommended maximum of 10 8-hour days Vibration, Service (Hour) meter, Work categories (VR081R) Two PP3 9 volt alkaline batteries, mounted internally Up to 1 year Standby (Red), Busy (Green) and Work category dial (VR081R) 175mm long x 80mm wide x 60mm high 400 grams, including batteries Dust proof; Water proof Operational temperature from -20ºC to +70ºC Four self-tapping screws or double-sided adhesive “mirror” tape Activity data from 16 Activity Recorders One PP3 9 volt alkaline battery Up to 1 year Busy (Green), Fault (Red), Battery Low (Yellow) 120mm long x 65mm wide x 22mm high 130 grams, including battery Dust proof, Splash proof Operational temperature from -20ºC to +70ºC None 85mm long x 55mm wide x 50mm high 240 grams DB9 Female connector (for PC COM port) 1.2 metres 486 IBM PC or fully compatible, Win95, 98, 2000 NT4.0, ME or XP, 8MB RAM, 3MB hard disc space, SVGA Monitor, CD ROM Drive A range of single and multiple vehicle reports by day or date range.
