Penryn College Clothing Shop Details pertaining to the arrangement that Penryn has regards the clothing shop: All school clothing is obtained from McCullagh and Bothwell (M & B) in Johannesburg on consignment stock basis. M & B price all the stock received. I sell the clothing at the marked prices and receive a set commission from M & B. M & B do all the ordering of the clothing and calculation of quantities and sizes required. They pay for the transport of stock to Nelspruit. Any stock, which is defective, can be returned for a full credit. M & B incur the costs if we change the uniform and old stock is left in the shop. I am responsible for stock control within the shop, any losses due to theft and bad debts. I also pay for the insurance of the stock. As I deal directly with M & B as far as payment is concerned clothing cannot be put on the school accounts, they are separate entities. Second hand clothing can be given to the shop to be sold. Ten percent of the sale price goes to the PPA and the balance to parents. Lost property, which is not claimed, is sold in the shop and all the money goes to the PPA. Book bags and chair bags for the Junior Primary are bought and sold at a profit for PPA funds. If you have any queries or suggestions, please contact me. Ingrid Young
