UNIFORM CODE – COLLEGE
Should a learner wish to be enrolled at Kingfisher Private School they must abide by the following rules at all times, regardless of religious, cultural or ethnic customs. The following will apply during school time as well as after school as long as the pupil is wearing his/her school uniform. The following is also applicable at school events. A) Jewellery 1) Earrings : Only one pair of visible pierced earrings may be worn by girls in the lower ear lobe (one in each lobe), girls are allowed to wear gold or silver studs or sleepers. (no hoops, dangling or bulky/large earrings.) Bracelets : Medic alert and mosquito deterrents may be worn. Watches may be worn. The following may not be worn : a) b) c) d) e) f) B) Hair a) b) c) d) e) f) g) Hair must be neat and tidy Shoulder length hair, or hair that falls forward must be tied back Boys hair must be clean cut for at least 3 cm above the collar. Boys hair must be neatly clipped around the ears. The length of the longest part of Boys hair must not exceed 3 cm. Hair may not point away from the head in a permed or gelled style. Highlights or dyeing of hair is allowed provided it is no more than two shades darker or two shades lighter than the pupil’s normal hair colour, is not multi-coloured or a radical colour change. Boys faces must be cleanly shaven and their sideburns are not allowed to be lower than the centre of the ear No dreadlocks No wigs Girls are allowed braids, which must be tied up if they touch the collar of the shirt. Girls who have coloured, relaxed or braided hair may not use this as an excuse not to swim. Underwear The appropriate white or flesh coloured underwear to be worn. “Civvy Days” Non-revealing appropriate clothing to be worn. Specified Clothing Only the School Uniform as set out by Kingfisher Private School is permitted. All High School learners must wear a tie for the whole school day on Mondays. 1

Winter

Tracksuit top is not allowed. Full tracksuit may be worn for sport.

The Sports Uniform is to be worn at all sporting events and to Physical Education periods (activity period). Provincial Tracksuit Policy If a learner has earned Provincial Colours in any sporting code, they are entitled to wear their full Provincial tracksuit or blazer on Fridays only, with their normal school uniform.

FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THE UNIFORM CODE WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY MEASURES AS SPECIFIED IN THE DISCIPLINARY CODE

ADDENDUM TO UNIFORM CODE – COLLEGE

Should a learner wish to be enrolled at Kingfisher Private School they must abide by the following rules at all times, regardless of religious, cultural or ethnic customs. The following will apply during school time as well as after school as long as the pupil is wearing his/her school uniform. The following is also applicable at school events. B) Hair Hair accessories (girls): These may only be black, white, turquoise and navy blue. G) Specified Clothing All boys must wear belts with their slacks. During the winter the learners may wear a navy blue scarf, beanie and gloves. Beanies will not be allowed in the classroom
