Big thanks to Daveian Laliberte for her hard work with the canteen last year. I know my kids thoroughly
enjoyed the canteen specials such as pizza, taco in a bag, etc. Hopefully we can keep that going this year.
Your help and donations of food will make this ensure it continues. Contact Daveian (937-8914)if you can
We have some fundraisers on the go now and coming up:
Mabel's Labels on-line ordering. Sent info with newsletter
There will be a Static in the Stars concert - date now Oct 14, 2009 @ GLH. We will need an MC for the
night to introduce Steven Jesmer and the Static in the Stars, so if anyone has any ideas let us know.
Another area you can be involved is the playground sub-committee. Last year they met together on a few
different occasions with sales reps, with staff, etc. as they are trying to come up with a plan for the new
playground. So if that is of interest to you, let us know.
Roblin Elementary School Parent Advisory Council (RES PAC) would like to thank Roblinites for a great show
of support for fundraising efforts over the last months. Thank-you to non-PAC volunteers who helped
with the fair dance ( Darcy Laliberte, Melanie & Darren Cowan, Lana Johnston, Dwight Mitchell, Ana
Baranowski, Adam & Denise Smith, Cindy Pound).
Nonetheless, we have a long way to go as replacement costs range around $100,000 for what we need for
our school. This next year expect to see a variety of fundraising opportunities. It may seem like we will be
“selling a lot of stuff” but what we are actually trying to accomplish is to offer something for everyone. So,
don’t feel obligated to buy from every fundraiser, take advantage of the ones that appeal to you.
Once again we were privileged to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week by bringing in lunch, fruit and
veggie trays, desserts, etc. over the course of the week. I f you would like to be notified so you can
contribute to this in this next year, let one of the committee know.
Parent / guardian involvement is key to every aspect of education here at RES. PAC needs participants
beyond members in order to carry out the job ahead of us. Consider yourself welcome to attend any
meeting as well as to help with any function we carry out.
