Football Fans! We are hoping to get as many fans as possible to the Saturday play-off game to root for our guys and help make a lot of noise. Football team parents who have extra room in their cars will help by taking some of the students. Those wanting a ride will be told to meet in front of PHS at 11:30 Saturday morning. Our cars will roll up, pick up, and head up to Novato to root for a win! If you can help with this, or know of a student who needs a ride, email Margaret at and we will get this caravan organized. Thanks for your support, and GO HIGHLANDERS! The PHS Cross Country Team is asking for your participation in the Annual “Turkey Trot” – a three-mile foot race in Piedmont held on Thanksgiving Day. On-site registration will start at 7:00am at PHS; the race will begin at 8:30am and awards will be given out at 9:20am. 800-1000 runners are expected. Proceeds will go to the PHS Cross Country and Track programs. Cost is $25 and includes a t-shirt and post-race snacks. Pre-race registration can be done online at

PRAISE Meeting Explores the Transition to High School. PRAISE invites all parents of middle school special needs students to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:15pm at Beach School Auditorium, which will focus on the “Transition to High School.” PHS Special Education staff, counselors and administrators will present an orientation for the parents of students who will have a class in the Learning Center next fall and that is aimed to familiarize them with the Resource Program. Topics for discussion will include an overview of the day-to-day experience for students in the Learning Center, the nature of the collaboration between the Resource Specialists and the other teachers, the character of the accommodations and modifications provided to high school students, and foundation information that will help parents consider their student’s preparation for college. This meeting is aimed toward easing any concerns of parents of special needs students related to the transition to high school. Parents of current 8th grade Special Education students should receive a letter from Mr. Booker on this informational presentation, but anyone interested is welcome to attend. For more information, contact interim PRAISE President Beth Hughes at 326-1828. Seeking New Members for Sea Scouts/Ship 16. After a hiatus and the recruitment of a new skipper, Paul
