Microsoft Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program. It is an automated version of a paper-based spreadsheet, and you can use it to store, organize, and manipulate data. Excel allows you to track lists of data and perform mathematical formulas on your data. You can also analyze, sort, filter and share your data. This workshop covers the basics of working with Excel 2007. Topics to be covered include: The Excel environment – Ribbon, Formula Bar, columns, rows and cells. Excel mouse shapes – depending on what you want to do, the proper mouse shape will help you work more efficiently. How does Excel treat entering a text value vs. a number value? How do you rename, insert, delete, or rearrange worksheets? Learn how to format a worksheet so that it’s visually appealing; or format it so that specific data is easier to find. After creating a worksheet, how can you ensure it will print as expected? The target audience for this workshop is the individual who is new to Excel.
