2010 ARS Information Sheet
ARS participants, including pianists, will be placed in chamber groups according to their experience.
Our coaches encourage and applaud ensembles of all levels. Assistants/mentors will form their own
group, and help faculty by overseeing individual practice sessions, occasionally filling a part in an
ensemble, playing parts in the orchestra, and generally being mentors to the younger players. We now
offer a half day option for students younger than 12 who are advanced enough to participate in
ensembles with their peers. Each half and full day student will need to send a short (4-5 minute)
recording of her/his playing, allowing faculty to best assign placement in ensembles.
