BAW Logo / Poster Competition Rules
1. Only one logo and one poster entry per person. Use the official entry form (copies of the form are acceptable) to design a logo or a poster for Brain Awareness Week. All logos must be entered within the provided space on the Competition Entry Form. The maximum size for all posters is standard A5-size (148cm X 210cm) and all posters should submitted together with the Competition Entry Form. All material must have a brain theme such as brain anatomy (a part of the brain), brain function (memory, language, emotions, movement, etc.), drug abuse or brain health (helmets, brain disorders, etc.). Be creative! Use your brain! 2. Entries will be divided into four categories: a) Junior phase: Grade 1-3 (open to individual or group entries) b) Senior phase: Grade 4-7 (open to individual or group entries) c) High School: Grade 8-12 (open to individual or group entries) d) A prize will be awarded to the school that submits the most entries. Just do it! Send us your entries and do it for your school! 3. To enter the contest, mail your completed entry form with your logo / poster to: MHIC, PO Box 19063, Tygerberg 7505 Entries will NOT be accepted by e-mail or fax. 4. Entries must be received by 29 March 2004 and cannot be returned. 5. People and their families associated with the 2004 BAW Planning Committee are not eligible to enter the contest. 6. The 2004 BAW Planning Committee will judge entries on the basis of originality, educational value, scientific accuracy and overall style. 7. Only one winner from each group will be selected. Winners will be announced on 31 March 2004 and will be notified by e-mail or telephone. The winner agrees to allow the 2004 BAW Planning Committee to publish his/her name and entry on the MHIC website and in Press Releases. Winner addresses and e-mail addresses will NOT be published. 8. All materials received will become the property of the 2004 BAW Planning Committee and will not be returned. The 2004 BAW Planning Committee will not be responsible for entries that are damaged or lost in the mail. 9. Winning entries will be awarded prizes worth R200.00 each, while the winning school will receive a prize worth R1000.00. Prizes will be mailed to the address listed on the winner's entry form and are sponsored by Exclusive Books, the University of Stellenbosch, and the European Dana Alliance for the Brain .
