Coffee morning Dr Sweeney and staff at Kinawley Surgery would like to say a big thank you to everybody who supported the annual coffee morning recently to raise funds for Cancer. A special word of thanks to John Donnarumma for the kind donation of his hand made cart which was raffled on the day and went to Margaret Chart from the Mill Club in Florencecourt. Proceeds will be divided between the Fiona Dolan fund which goes to provide ophthalmology services to developing countries and the Fermanagh Branch of MS. Dooneen’s Holistic Fair raised money for MS and it is hoped that there will be further donations before the money is presented to the group. Thursday 20 November at 8.00pm is the occasion of a talk by Rev Harry Coulter which will be the last in a remarkable series which reveals less known aspects of Irish history. Rev Coulter, who is originally from Kesh will speak about the Covenanters and Ireland. The monthly music session for November features the popular Maguire Family and takes place on Friday 21 November at 9.00pm. Malcolm Cathers piano and button key accordion class takes place each Friday from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and the members are practising for the public performance of the Dooneen Button and Key Club on Friday 5 December, commencing at 8.00pm. DONAGH Youth Club Senior Youth Club continues on Tuesday nights with Hip Hop dancing class please note only registered members interested can attend. Due to the space needed for the dance class no other activities can be arranged. Members who have not been dancing have been disrupting the class. Boho Heritage Boho Heritage looks forward to welcoming Bryan Gallagher, author and storyteller, on Friday, November 21st at 8pm to speak about ‘The Way We Were’. Bryan, whose voice is familiar to radio listeners on BBC and RTE, will take us on a trip down memory lane as he recalls what life was like in the 1940’s and 50’s. Christmas Following the success of the Halloween disco a Christmas disco has been arranged for 19th December. Many thanks to the ladies of the clubhouse kitchen who provided free sausage and chip to the large crowd in attendance and thanks to Philly who prepared the Clubhouse and provided sweets for all the children. Halloween festivities of a bonfire and fireworks afterwards completed a memorable night for all the community. Recruitment Apprenticeship Course in Youth & Community Work As part of a major innovative employment and training programme, Youth Action NI wishes to recruit ten young people aged 18 to 24 years to undertake an 18 month Apprenticeship Course in Youth and Community Work leading to a range of recognised qualifications. Three of the posts will be based in Irvinestown - two in the Bawnacre and one in the Arc Healthy Living Centre. Youth Forum The new Local Youth Forum for the Irvinestown area has been established and will have further meetings in the Bawnacre on a regular basis. Local teens aged 15 years and over can be part of the Youth Forum which will deal with matters of concern for young people. Over the coming months the Youth Forum will meet staff from various voluntary and statutory agencies to air their views on local issues and problems.
