Tampa has talent!! The South Shore Marauders are seeking it for their Third Annual “Pirate Idol Tampa Bay, Entertaining for Charity”, to be held at the Dallas Bull, Saturday, February 28th, 2009. Doors open at 5 p.m. Have your krewe enter one of your members or find a contestant or group from the community to sing, karaoke, dance, play an instrument, or perform any talent in good taste. Votes will cost one dollar each for this AMATEUR talent contest. After two rounds of competition, the contestant with the most votes will be named Pirate Idol 2009 and the charity chosen by the winning krewe will receive half the evening’s proceeds to be donated in their honor. The remaining half will be awarded to the charity named by the sponsoring South Shore Marauders. We will have celebrity judges for commentary purposes only. Dollars WIN this contest and so does your contestant! Makes sure your krewe members, friends and family attend Pirate Idol to support your talent choice. Miss Amanda Mason, last year’s winner of Pirate Idol will perform in addition to Mr. Bones Pirate Magician. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. All participants must be members in good standing or sponsored by their Krewe. Krewes may bring in a contestant as an honorary member for this event. Contestants are limited to one individual/duet/group per Krewe for competition. Talent acts may include but are not limited to: singing, karaoke, lip sync, dancing, magic, comedy, etc. All acts must be in good taste. No excessive foul language, gestures or nudity. The competition will consist of 2 rounds. Contestants should prepare at least a 90-second act for the first round, and be prepared for a longer act in the final round.
