How to Archive Old Emails in Outlook? Solution: PST A user can easily store old email in a Personal Folder File also known as a PST files. You can have as many PST files as you want and each one can have sub-folders, like your regular Mailbox. Each PST file can be up to 2GB in size; however it is a good rule of thumb not to exceed 1.5GB as the PST file can become more easily corrupt or difficult to access. Below are instructions to find out the folder’s size limit and change the default name of PST folder. There are 2 PST files shown, one named Personal Folders (which is the default name given once a PST is created) and the other is labeled PST.
