Fresh Choice Fundraiser Get ready to eat out and help earn money for Pioneer teachers and students. Fresh Choice is hosting a fundraiser where we can earn 15% for every dollar spent. When: Thursday April 10, 2008 Time: 11:00AM – 9:00 PM Where: Union Landing You must present your flyer in order for Pioneer to earn credit, so please remember to watch for it in your child’s folder or backpack. Pioneer Open House – Wednesday, May 21

a full-time job! Many of the duties of a board member are done via e-mail. PTC meetings are held only as necessary, usually four or five meetings each year. Most of our current board members are working moms and dads who manage full-time schedules and their board duties. If you are interested in finding out more about assuming a vital role in your child’s education, you can drop off a note in the school office or e-mail address given at the end of this newsletter. Pioneer needs you! The 2007-2008 Yearbook for Sale Soon! Watch for the yearbook order form this month. This is “must have” if you are a Pioneer student. It is a high quality book your child will look at for years to come. The cost of the book will be $10 each. Please order early and reserve your copy. The Dedication section of our yearbook will once again be available for parents, students, grandparents, etc. to send a student, teacher or even a co-worker a message! Dedications cost $4.00 per 300 character space. All dedications must be received by May 1st. Submit Photos for the 2007-2008 Yearbook Parents and teachers are encouraged to leave their candid shots in the PTC box, in the envelope marked “2008 Yearbook Photos.” If you have a digital camera, you may leave your photos on CD. Photos can also be emailed to Make sure the pictures are clearly marked with classroom number and event. All pictures will be returned. Last day to submit photos is May 1st. We may accept special events that happen after this date, but it will be on a case by case basis. Save Your Box Tops for Next Year If you forgot to bring in those Box Tops, don’t throw them away. It’s not too early to start saving them for next year. Save the General Mills logos from cereals and other products and drop off in the specially marked box at the office. Each box top is worth 10 cents. This fundraiser has great potential to earn money for our school. If every student and teacher just turned in 10 box tops a

PTC will be sponsoring a pizza and drink sale, and raffle at Open House. We are asking for people to donate “themed baskets” for the raffle. Just pick a theme and build a basket! Some suggested ideas for baskets:        Sand Box Toys Art Supplies Pool or Beach Items Gardening Chocolate Coffee and Tea Soaps and/or Lotions

These are only suggestions. You may come up with your own ideas. Mark the back side of this form if you can donate a completed basket. Please specify your “theme”. We will need volunteers to help run the raffle, pizza sales. Please mark the volunteer box on the back side of this form and turn in to your teacher if you can help. Searching for 2008-2009 PTC Board Members Interested in making a difference at your child’s school? All PTC board positions are open to parent volunteers for the ’08-’09 school year. Being a PTC board member is a great way to learn the intricacies of running our school. Being a board member does not have to be

We encourage you to visit the website in order for us to generate a flow of traffic. More traffic means more sponsors for our website, and more shopping places we can offer you which also benefit the school. Got a shopping site you want to see? Let us know. Join the S.H.A.R.E Program Sign up today for your S.H.A.R.E card. If you shop Lucky, FoodMaxx, SaveMart or Smartfoods, you can help us earn money every time you grocery shop. When you are checking out, just hand the cashier your card and Pioneer will receive 3% of your purchase automatically. This program replaces the Community Partner card we previously had with Albertsons. To sign up, fill out the portion attached to this newsletter and we will order and deliver to a card to your child’s classroom. Other Ways to Support the PTC Buy Krispy Kreme Cards – For each $10 card you purchase, Pioneer receives $5. You receive 1 dozen

glazed doughnuts free for each dozen purchased. The card is good for up to 10 dozen free. See the office staff if you would like to purchase a card or fill out the form below.
