May 12, 2005 Director of Public Relations Boston Red Sox 88 Yawkey Way Boston, Mass Dear Director, I am writing as a representative of a new media offering important and unique access to key demographics in our wired society – Bloggers, and Blog readers. We are a group of affiliated Bloggers who meet at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at the Harvard Law School and Blog about all aspects of our lives and the world around us. Together, we have a cumulative readership of over a million page views a month. In general, our readers are highly educated, upscale and economically active. Publicity via a Berkman Blog conveys hippness and class at the same time. My own blog, the Dowbrigade News, concentrates on local events, politics, sports and education. I have blogged about the Red Sox in the past [here individual blogger can or cannot place links to previous posts/samples of work] and would like to do some more indepth reporting, preferably including access to the locker rooms and interviews with players. We feel that this addition to the regular media coverage of the Sox would be a positive PR move and would keep the younger fans logging on to follow developments on line. You may even be interested in arranging to have an official Red Sox blog. In addition the Bloggers at Berkman group would be interested in helping any players who might want to start blogs of their own. We hope to hear from you soon in relation to this timely project, Sincerely,
Michael “Dowbrigade” Feldman Bloggers@Berkman Associate Blogger
