2008 Annual Meeting Bios J. Christopher Burke, FLMI President, AMA Insurance Agency, Inc. Chris Burke is president of AMA Insurance Agency, Inc., a subsidiary of the American Medical Association in Chicago, Illinois. Chris has extensive leadership and management experience in the areas of business-to-business and consumer marketing and sales of life, health, disability, Medicare supplement and annuity products. He previously was senior vice president of marketing with Forethought Financial Services, Inc., where over his career there he had many responsibilities including: insurance company operations, strategic marketing, corporate communications, and sales and marketing for both the insurance and banking organizations. He was also an executive management team member, a board member of six Forethought subsidiaries, and a board member of Forethought Federal Savings Bank. Burke received a Bachelor of Science in Management degree from the University of Indianapolis and has achieved the Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) professional insurance designation. During that period, his agency has created and driven unique marketing programs for some of America's leading organizations, including the National Education Association, GE Capital, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Prudential Insurance, Bank of America and Minnesota Life to name a few. Chris is proud of his long-standing relationship as the primary agency and marketing partner of NEA Member Benefits, one of the most successful affinity marketing programs in the U.S. The recipient of several advertising industry awards for Print, Broadcast, Direct Marketing and Corporate Events, Chris is responsible for the creative and strategic vision of Bodden Partners. Steve Kakos Account Director, closerlook Steve Kakos is an Account Director for closerlook. He is responsible for developing new business and growing client relationships. Steve has over 10 years of experience selling and delivering professional services. Prior to joining closerlook, he co-founded Sales Divine, an innovative national sales consultancy. Steve began his career with PeopleSolutions, where he played a key role in helping the firm achieve Inc. 500 recognition as one of the nation’s fastest growing private companies. His client list includes leading organizations such as BlueCross BlueShield, AIG American General, The Hartford, the American Medical Association Insurance Agency and the Texas Medical Association Insurance Trust. In this capacity, she is responsible for much of the marketing and distribution research LIMRA provides to its U.S. and Canadian Group and LTCI members. Potter also develops and conducts marketing studies and one-time industry surveys based on the interest indicators of LIMRA’s various constituencies. Prentice is President of Prentice Consulting, Inc. where he works with small and middlemarrke companies in strategy development, project management, continuous improvement (Kaizen and Six Sigma), and mergers & acquisitions. Formerly he was Executive Director for Hillenbrand Industries, a global Fortune 1000 company. That role included serving as an internal consultant to the firm’s corporate staffs, leading teams in strategic decision-making, and work in Europe. Mr. Prentice also was a member of the Board of Directors, and President and Chief Executive Officer, of Forethought Federal Savings Bank. He was a member of the original team of executives who formed Forecorp (now Forethought Financial Services, Inc.), Forethought Life Insurance Company, and The Forethought Group and who grew Forethought Life Insurance Company from start-up to $600 million in annual sales. In a prior position as Senior Vice President of Forethought Financial Services, Inc., he was responsible for marketing insurance to a large market segment throughout the United States.
