Field Observations Time: 11AM Weather: Raining, cool
- I was on site from 10AM to 11AM.
- No scrapers were running at the time of my visit. A Cat D10 dozer was ripping the cut areas. An
excavator was trimming the slope to the north of “K” Street near the intersection with “A” Street.
- I did not observe any major damage from the rain that fell during the period between Friday (3/18)
and this morning. There was water flowing in “A” Street in some minor ruts. The water flowing in “A”
Street was channeled into the on site storm drain catch basins by check dams trenched across the
roadway. It appeared as though channels cut in “A” Street were effective in channeling water into the
on site storm drain catch basins. The “I” Street pond had about 2-feet of water. The water level in the
large basin was about 6-feet below the opening in the spillway. The filtration system was in operation
and pumped relatively clear water into the storm drain. I did not observe any water flowing from the
site onto Edward’s Avenue.
- Peter told me that DeSilva Gates would most likely resume grading operations next Tuesday. Heavy
rain is forecast for later today.
