Hershey Track Meet – Wake County Local
Location: Buffaloe Road Athletic Park Age: 9-14 yrs. This event is designed to introduce youth to physical fitness through basic track and field events such as running, throwing and jumping. Participants have an opportunity to advance to compete at the regional, state and possibly the national level. Registration will begin at 8:30am, events will begin at 9:30am. Strings Attached Concert – Pullen Arts
Location: Pullen Arts Center Age: All Ages. An outdoor concert celebrating acoustic music featuring Ed Stephenson & Friends playing ‘high-energy accoustic inspired music!’ Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner and enjoy an evening out in the park with the pleasing sounds of Ed Stephenson & Friends. Food concessions available. Concert site is the front lawn of Pullen Arts Center, 105 Pullen Road. Tickets are $3 and will be available ‘at the door.’ Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the park. July 4th Celebration
Location: NC State Fairgrounds Bring your family to enjoy rides, food and entertainment followed by the largest fireworks display in the triangle. No charge for admission. Jul 4 F 3:00-10:00pm

Special Event – Aladdin jr.
Location: Sertoma Arts Center Age: 1mths. and up. Bring the family out to enjoy the musical production “Aladdin jr’’. This presentation is directed and choreographed by local dance/drama/theatre instructor Cathy Minjkives along with her students from the Musical Theatre Production (#68567) class offered at Sertoma Arts Center. This is a free, public event. Seating is limited to 100 and is first come, first served. We are not registering patrons for this event. We hope to see you there! Class Fee: $0 Jul 18 F 6:30-8:00pm

Lake Wheeler Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby
Location: Lake Wheeler Age: 6-12yrs. The widely popular annual Lake Wheeler Kid’s Fishing Derby will be conducted on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 9:00am-1:00pm. Kids ages 6-12 may participate in this yearly event. The derby will be conducted by the Simpkins Pond area of Lake Wheeler Park and parents should begin registering their children at 8am (on site registration only—please do not try to register on line as this event is free). There is no fee for this event. Prizes will be awarded—courtesy of WalMart. The fishing derby will kick off at 9am and end at 12 noon. Register at Lake Wheeler from 8:00-8:45am. Please note that only children may participate in this tournament—not the parents. Following the event there will be a free hot dog cookout also courtesy of Walmart. This is a wonderful family event and is designed to foster interest in one of America’s fastest growing outdoor sports—fishing! Special Event – Summer Dance with the Casablanca Orchestra
Location: Sertoma Arts Center Age: All Ages. Come out and dance! The Casablanca Orchestra performs for the new Summer version of the popular Spring and Winter Dances at Sertoma.
