Meeting Notes — The Committee Notes for November were accepted. Public Comments – None Update on Float and Decoration Days – Laurie Payne distributed a copy of the decoration schedule and information. The float is being built in Azusa by Festival Arts. Karin Reed, a city employee, will be organizing the volunteers and keeping track of names. To date she has received over 250 responses via the Internet, 40 people plan to decorate at the Art Center, and over 150 employees and families will attend the decorating in Azusa. Although volunteers are not required to register or sign up in advance, Payne would like to identify them so she can give them a commemorative pin. December 13 is City Employee day. Children under the age of 12 are welcome with close adult supervision. Update on sponsorship and fundraising – So. Cal. Edison has donated $5,000 for a sponsorship, plus they will buy 8 seats to finish off their table for the Centennial Ball. Kiwanis purchased a $2,000 ad in the program. Update on Online VIP Rose Parade Package Auction – The bid is up to $2800.00 dollars. Update on Centennial Root Beer – Contract with Brubaker is still pending, nothing finalized. Update on 2008 Boat Parade – Laurie and husband Randy received a 20-foot wide vinyl banner from Festival Arts depicting the float that hung on the side of their boat, and played Surf City USA in the background. They received an Award of Excellence.

Update on events – Diane introduced Joe Santiago a historian, who presented his thoughts and ideas regarding the “Moments in Time” book. Discuss several options regarding printing, sales, and other associated costs, and also the possibility of the CV&B underwriting the costs. Additional Discussion Items Not Agendized Reyn Spooner shirts will be delivered in March 2009. Next Meeting Discussion Steve Bone asked the group whether or not they would like to cancel the last meeting in December because of the holidays. After some discussion, it was decided to cancel the December 17th meeting. Update on Events – January: Mary Lou Shattuck discussed putting the invitation information on the website. Also send a press release to newspapers. She has forms for advertising in the program. Still have many invitations. Discussed doing an email Blasts regarding the silent auction donations and maybe a water bill insert. There are also plans for a “Farewell Table” at the valet area where guests will be waiting for their cars. The table will consist of information from Business’s in Huntington Beach, and cookies. February - November: No report
