					PUBLIC NOTICE On or about July 17, 2009 the City of Elizabeth in cooperation with the County of Union, local for-profit and non-profit organizations intend to submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development under the Neighborhood Stabilization Program II (NSP 2). The funds requested, a minimum of $5 million dollars, shall be used to arrest decline in home values, reduce vacant, foreclosed and abandoned residential properties and stabilize neighborhoods within the City of Elizabeth. Specific target neighborhoods include, but are not limited to: Elizabethport, New Point Road, Keighryhead, and Midtown Funds shall be used for the following eligible purposes/uses: A. To establish financing mechanisms for purchase and redevelopment of foreclosed upon homes and residential properties; B. Purchase and rehabilitation of homes and residential properties that have been abandoned or foreclosed upon in order to sell, rent or redevelop such homes and properties; E. Redevelop demolished or vacant properties. Citizen participation is encouraged. All comments must be received, in writing, no later than July 15, 2009 at 4:00 pm for consideration.
