MEDIA ADVISORY Camden, NJ: The Honorable Mayor Gwendolyn A. Faison, The Department of Health and Human Services and the Camden Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce that in coordination with Sun Rx will be issuing a Discount Prescription Card Program. Prescription drug costs have been the fastest growing component of healthcare costs for the past 5 years. Drug costs have seen double digit growth and are expected to be near $400 Billion by year 2008. There are over 45 million Americans without prescription benefit programs. Sun Rx is dedicated to helping people without prescription benefits with their pharmacy needs. They have created a retail and mail order program where individuals can now receive close to the same discounts on prescriptions as large corporations receive. The City of Camden and The Camden Chamber of Commerce are very concerned with the rising cost of prescription medication and how it is adversely affecting the country and in particular the already poverty stricken residents of the City of Camden. This program was developed for those with little or no insurance and to cover medications not covered by your current plan. Savings will range from 15-70% off retain pricing, with deep discounts on generics. Free Prescription Cards (discounts on prescription drugs not free drugs) will be made available at our community centers, and in the Department of Health and Human Services room #224. Upon receipt of your card simply present the SUNRx Discount card to a participating pharmacy at the time of purchase to save money instantly on your prescription drugs. You may also visit www.sunrxdiscount.com/chrcc for more information and to print additional cards or call (800) 650-3184 for assistance.
