Summit Park Hospital & Nursing Care Center to open art exhibit on September 10th
Traveling exhibit to remain at Summit Park for three weeks
Pomona, NY – The Rockland County Summit Park Hospital and Nursing Care Center announces the opening of the annual, traveling New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) Art Exhibit at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008. The opening of the exhibit will coincide with a tree dedication in honor of longtime member of the Summit Park Board of Governors, the late George Mazzucco. The NYAHSA art exhibit is a collection of the works of residents, registrants, staff and volunteers affiliated with NYAHSA and Adult Day Health Care Council (ADHCC) members. NYAHSA is the only statewide organization representing the entire continuum of not-for-profit and public continuing care. Provider members are dedicated to offering high quality health care, housing and community-based services to the elderly and people with special needs. Since the start of the exhibit in 1991, it has had a variety of co-sponsors and support from several prominent individuals. In 1997, NYAHSA Services, Inc., a subsidiary of NYAHSA, assumed sole sponsorship of the exhibit enabling NYAHSA to become the solitary presenter of this annual event. Over time the number of exhibit locations has grown from a handful to its current geographically representative visits to NYAHSA and ADHCC members. The tour travels across New York State from April through October. Each member location receives the art for a three-week period and opens their doors to their communities to share these works of art. The Rockland County swing band, Reflections, will provide music at the exhibit. For more information, please call 845-364-2154.
