Authorizing The Chairman Of The Ulster County Legislature To Execute An Agreement With The New York State Crime Victims Board (NYSCVB) For The Continuation Of The Crime Victims Assistance Program – Department Of Probation
The Criminal Justice and Safety Committee (Chairman Dart and Legislators Briggs, Richard Parete, Zimet, Hansut, Maloney, and Ronk) offers the following: WHEREAS, the Director of Probation has requested that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement (NYS Comptroller’s Number C-501172) with the New York State Crime Victims Board for the continuation of the Crime Victims Assistance Program for the period October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2012, and WHEREAS, the Crime Victims Assistance Program serves all victims of crime in Ulster County, providing counseling, accompanying victims to Court, the hospital, and/or the police station, and working one-on-one with victims and their families, and WHEREAS, the total multi-year term annual award amounts are as follows: 2009-2010 $237,489.00; 2010-2011 $244,803.00; and 2011-2012 $245,614.00; for a total three-year term award of $727,906.00, and WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice and Safety Committee has met and reviewed said request with a majority of the members voting approval, and WHEREAS, the Ways and Means Committee has met and reviewed said request with a majority of members voting approval, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the New York State Crime Victims Board for the continuation of the Crime Victims Assistance Program for the period October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2012, in the amount of $727,906.00, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, and moves its adoption.
