Delivering first-class health services
When it opens in 2014, the Fiona Stanley Hospital at Murdoch will be Western Australia’s
flagship health facility. It will be the major tertiary hospital in the south metropolitan area and
will offer comprehensive health care services to communities south of Perth and across the
State.
The $1.76 billion tertiary hospital will rank among the best in Australia – a leader in clinical
care, research and education, supported by an innovative design that harnesses the latest
scientific, technological and medical developments.

The 643-bed hospital will include:                               •   renal dialysis and transplantation;

•   a full range of acute medical and surgical services;         •   obstetrics and neonatology services;

•   a major trauma centre including a 24-hour emergency          •   cardiothoracic services;

facility to be built by the Western Australian Institute for
Medical Research.
