•   Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is Michigan’s third largest school district with
    more than 19,000 students.

•   There are 26 schools in the districts. There are 16 elementary schools, five middle
    schools and three high schools. The P-CCS also has an alternative education facility
    and a special education center.

•   The district’s annual budget is more than $156 million.

•   Of the 34 school districts in Wayne County, only six districts have a lower foundation
    grant than Plymouth-Canton Community School.

•   Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is one of Wayne County’s top employers. The
    district has more than 2,500 full and part-time employees. There are more than 1,100
    teachers.

•   The P-CCS bus fleet transports more than 11,500 students per day with 123 busses.

•   Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is the only district in the country to house
    three large high schools on one campus.

•   Plymouth-Canton Community Schools’ graduation rate is 85.69%. This is more than
    10% higher than the state average.

•   The district is currently conducting a participatory budget process that will help the Board of
    Education prioritize the budget for next year and the future. These committees include many
    P-CCS stakeholder groups, such as community members, parents, staff and administrators.

•   Since 90 percent of the district’s budget is spent on staff, the Board and
    administration are actively communicating with P-CCS employee units to review
    ongoing costs.

•   The Plymouth and Canton Communities must continue to lobby the state legislature.
    We must urge them to fully and equitably fund schools. The District’s Board of
    Education and Administration will continue to lobby for more funding as well.
