OCD - This Is A Must Read If You Suffer From Obsessive Compulsive Disorder By Derek Soto

What kind of information do you need to get rid of your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? What is it that you want in your life? What kind of quality of life are you looking for? How long do you want to suffer with OCD? These are big questions that need to be answered. You need to know where you are going or how are you ever going to get there? You need to create direction in your life by deciding right now that you are going to make some positive changes in your life. You need to understand that there are things you can do right now to create that necessary change. Now that you know that you can decide what it is that you are going to do, you have to just do it. You are able to and don't ever let anybody tell you differently. No matter what kind of credentials they wear. We let people who are perceived as professionals to tell us what to do and where to live and how to act and to tell us what we can and can't do. Do you find that you are asking yourself, "What if this, what if that?" You gotta stop doing that. That is the first thing that you need to do. People with OCD are plagued by this 'what if' scenario in their heads. If you can let go of this mental gambit, you will be way ahead of the game. Do you find that you are always over analyzing everything that you think, say and do? Do you think that you will ever be able to become OCD free if you keep doing this? Don't you know how much work it is to have OCD? Do you want to stop? You can! I tell people that have OCD that they have to learn how to be mentally lazy when it comes to obsessions. You need to think, "this is just too much effort to analyze and I don't feel like doing it!" That is something that will also put you way ahead of the game. People in the professional fields will never tell you things like this because they simply don't know about it because they never had OCD. So what are you going to do? Who are you going to believe? Someone who learned about OCD in a class or from a set of books written by others who didn't have OCD? You have to realize that the only way to get over OCD is to learn from people who have had OCD, know what it's like and who have beaten it. That is the only way, period. So now you have a decision to make. You can go and frequent the OCD forums and join the pity party

OCD - Quiz to see if you suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder By Derek Soto

This quiz will help you determine whether you suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Do you get sudden spikes of anxiety when you have certain thoughts? Like if you think about hurting someone. Or think about a certain number or a certain way you did something. These things may seem arbitrary to people without OCD. People with OCD on the other hand, this could feel like life or death. Do you count things that you do or thoughts that you have? Do you think about the same things over and over again analyzing everything and every detail? If you do these things, you have Obsessive Compulsive thoughts. Did you know that OCD thoughts are a habit and that you can break this habit, just like you can break the habit of biting your nails or avoiding cracks on the sidewalk? Most "professionals" would have you believe that you cannot get over obsessive thoughts and that they are some kind of disorder. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am here to tell you from experience first hand that you can get rid of obsessive thoughts in your life and you can and will live a normal life again if you do very simple, but tedious steps. There steps are tedious because our brain resists change. In order for you to get over OCD you're going to have to accept change. You will have to accept changing what thoughts you automatically go to when something happens. The way you respond to things that you hear, taste, touch, smell etc, determine whether you have OCD or not! Let me say that in a different way. The way that we respond to events and thoughts determines whether we have OCD or not! If you change the way that you respond to different things you think or see, you will no longer suffer. You will have peace of mind. You will be someone who is no longer afraid of anxiety. The reason people get so stuck on OCD is that they are so afraid of anxiety that they refuse to face it and they avoid it like the plague! In order to get rid of OCD, you have to face anxiety because that is what keeps OCD alive! If you cut out the power supply to OCD, which is anxiety, OCD will instantly turn off. You don't have to know how everything works in order to control it. You don't have to know how electricity works to turn a light off! What you should really focus on is realizing and accepting the fact that OCD is just a habit. That OCD is powered by Anxiety and that once the anxiety is dealt with, the OCD disappears. If you are no longer afraid something will happen if you don't do a ritual, you don't have OCD! Everyone has OCD thoughts. People without OCD have OCD thoughts. They just react to them differently. They identify it as a dumb thought and toss it like garbage. You will learn how to do the same thing. When something really important in your life happens, that is when you will be most vulnerable with OCD thoughts. If you stay strong during these moments, you are indeed, OCD free!
