					COURSE OVERVIEW

TSO/ISPF OVERVIEW
(Course No. 120.004) TIME SHARING OPTION (TSO) offers the user a wide range of very powerful commands which allow very direct (although controlled) access to resources on the mainframe computer. Although this command language is available, it is more common to find TSO being used with the assistance of a structured, menudriven product such as the INTERACTIVE SYSTEM PRODUCTIVITY FACILITY (ISPF).

This course presents an overview of ISPF operation within a TSO control environment together with an examination of the range of features and capabilities offered by ISPF. Participants become familiar with this very effective tool through substantial hands-on practice with ISPF facilities.

OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of the course, the participant should have gained the ability to;

• • • • • • • •

Create, edit, copy, delete and check the status of data sets. Set up an ISPF library. Submit batch jobs to the system and then track them as they execute. Process jobs in foreground. Setup and modify their edit profile. Modify their ISPF profile. List the different ISPF data sets. Set up and use the different ISPF data sets.
