NCCP LEVEL I COACHING CLINIC
Central Ontario District Badminton Association and Ontario Badminton Association work to provide solid technical foundations through NCCP Level I and Level II Technical Coaching courses each season. Under the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) there are five levels of progressive qualification. Each level consists of 3 components: Theory, Technical and Practical. o Theory component includes general aspects of coaching common to all sports. o Technical component includes skills, drills, and strategies specific to badminton. o Practical component involves application of knowledge from Theory and Technical courses to real coaching. The NCCP course should relate directly to the level of athlete being coached: o o o o Level 1for novice athletes: Level II for intermediate to advanced athletes Level III for provincially elite athletes (top 4 in Ontario Junior/Open category) Level IV: Nationally elite athletes (top 4 in Canada, Open category)
Wayne King, NCCP Level III Coach will deliver this NCCP Level I (Technical) course. Wayne is currently head coach at University of Toronto and Harwood Phoenix Junior Badminton Club and has served as head coach for COBA at 3 Ontario Winter Games and for OBA at the 1991 Canada Winter Games.
