                                          Flemington-Raritan Regional School District

     The Flemington-Raritan Regional School District is the largest regional K-8 school district in
  Hunterdon County, serving the communities of Flemington Borough and Raritan Township, an area
encompassing 38 square miles. Operating four K-4 elementary schools, a 5-6 intermediate school and
    a 7-8 middle school, the district houses 3,600 students and employs over 500 staff members.
The district provides opportunities for students to explore new interests and gain self-confidence while
 learning from one another. They offer high-quality instructional programs, enrichment activities and

      OVERVIEW OF EDUCATIONAL STATISTICS
             IN HUNTERDON COUNTY

The Hunterdon County Office of the New Jersey State
Department of Education functions as a State-County
coordinating agency charged with responsible educational
leadership in the county.

The County (437 square miles - 26 municipalities - 121,989
population per 2000 census) has 30 school districts (4 regional
high school districts, 1 vocational school, 1 alternative school, 1
regional elementary district, 1 elementary sending district and 22
elementary districts) with approximately 22,896 pupils.

The 30 school districts include 50 school buildings and employ
approximately 3,820 full and part-time instructional, supervisory
and administrative positions. Local school budgets prepared for
the 2009-2010 school year total $382,627,967.

All school districts are engaged in improving curriculum and
increasing professional development opportunities. There has
been a marked expansion of offerings in alternative and special
needs education, adult education, new courses and
methodologies in the general curriculum, facility planning and
vocational-technical education.
