Though not as important as writing amazing content, creating an awesome site design is the most
important part of leaving a remarkable first impression on your visitors. Contents keeps visitors coming
back, but a beautiful web design has its own value. Before you go out and spend hundreds, or even
thousands, of dollars on a web site design, make sure you understand the basics.

There are two aspects of a good web design: substance and style. Like we mentioned above, each
has its own value, and can make the other aspect even better.

Let's start out with substance, or the technical aspect of a web design. A well-designed web site
should be and easy to navigate. Minimize the distractions. Make sure your visitors can access the blog
through a wide variety of web browsers, operating systems, and screen resolutions. You wouldn't want
to mess up a beautiful design by only coding it for one browser.

One commonly overlooked component of web design is the page's loading time. With many designs
extremely graphic-heavy, some sites take several seconds to completely load. In an era of web surfing
where a visit may only last a couple seconds, it's important to keep your visitor's attention while you
have it. Images should only be a few kilobytes (10kb - 12kb). Many graphic editors, such as Adobe
Photoshop, have a "save for web" feature that will allow you to save the bandwidth and load time by
cutting file size.

As far as the aesthetic design goes, it's important to be "unique," after all, that's how trends change.
But in most cases, it's better to stick with a traditional conservative design. There's a whole laundry list
of ways that a web layout can get out of hand. Minimize the distractions. Stick with a couple simple
fonts. Avoid Flash-based component that steal bandwidth and attention. Cut down on the
advertisements, especially ones that aren't extremely profitable. Don't automatically have your favorite
song start blasting in the background. And whatever you do, there's no need to change the visitor's
cursor. Final point: keep it simple, stupid. There's the end of that rant.

There are quite a few tools out there for a webmaster's disposal. Some software applications allow
you to certify your site meets web standards. These swiss-army knives of design can help your site do
it all. It's possible to check out your site in a variety of browsers and resolutions, as well as making sure
the code meets world wide web standards. In most cases, trial versions available for download, if not
the full version. For web designers working on a variety of sites, a do-it-all program is a great asset for

improving design functionality.

Web design is the telephone line that delivers your message to your visitors. Better yet, your web
design is the phone itself. Everybody wants a stylish design, but it's most important that the message is
delivered across effectively.

Designing a web site is a never-ending process. Even after the initial design, you'll find that little
tweaks are needed from time to time. With the ever-evolving Internet, even a state of the art web site
may need a significant redesign just one year later. Ask your readers for feedback about the site
design; after all, they're the ones you're trying to communicate with.

Hiring a web design firm is one to develop a beautiful web site. However, don't forget that functionality
is the essential part. Common sense doesn't require a thousand-dollar phone consultant. VPS Hosting FFMpeg Hosting

                                           Evolution Of Web Design
                                              By Valerio Fioretti

As a rule, web site layouts & designs evolve. At the beginning of the Internet era, many web site
owners become captivated with "bells and whistles" that, on the superficial, might appeal to their target
public. Java apps, Flash movies, gigantic animations and other graphic media has become
increasingly prevalent over the years.

However, in the precipitate to have the "coolest" site layout design, web site owners forget whom they
are creating their site for: Their target audience. Your audience might find that Flash movie irritating
after viewing it multiple times. Your audience might not be able to find your site in the search engines.
"Bells and whistles" are attributes of a web site that need to be measured and tested to see if they
increase or drive away sales.

Below are the largely collective steps of web's evolution typically undergo:

Step 1 - Design Over Substance

Step 2 - Designing for Online Visibility

Step 3 - Designing for Your Audience

Step 4 - Site Redesign

Step 1 - Design Over Substance
The first stage is to design a site that the CEO, venture capitalists, and ad agencies like to see. There
are all types of "bells and whistles" in this design. An entire site might be a Flash site. Or there might
be some beautiful JavaScript mouseover effects or drop-down menus in the design. It's always a pretty
design, but the message is clear -- style over substance.

Step 2 - Designing for Online Visibility
In Step 2, the reality of an ineffective web layout begins to hit, usually around 3-6 months after the first
launch. A site will typically get rejected by many of the major portals, not be indexed by the major
search engines, or not get the traffic or customers that were projected based on the various types of
marketing strategies used. Typically, that's when corporates decide that they will try to hire a expert
online marketer to promote the site. Entrance page companies, in some way, profile or form, rear their
horrid heads.

Unfortunately, many site owners fall for a entrance page company's pitch since the beautifully
designed site couldn't possibly be the glitch with low site traffic. Google might have rejected a site, or
the site might have been listed in Yahoo and the company cannot understand why they have no extra
infos. But in no way would many advertising agencies or doorway page companies want to tell
potential customers the truth -- they simply did not design and write an effective web site -- because it
would mean losing tons of money in business.

Step 3 - Designing for Your Audience

By Step 3, afterward expenses an ridiculous amount of money on cool web site designs and various
marketing strategies, web site owners generally assume out that they did not design or write an
successful Web site for their target audience.

Typically, web site owners will bring in a usability expert to examine possible issues and present
various solutions. Bringing in a search engine marketing expert to help with SEF design templates
early in the design time can save a company thousands of dollars in online marketing expenses.

Step 4 - Site Redesign
After tender usability and search engine visibility analyses, web site owners ultimately have an
operational web site. A site that is crafted, coded and designed for user friendliness and search engine
(SEO) visibility generally gets the the majority traffic and follow-on sales since it was written, planned,
and designed for end users.

Web sites be supposed to forever be designed with your target audience in mind, not your own
individual preferences. Colors have meaning. Expert designers understand the psychology of color and
the use of white space to superlative project the image your audience wishes to see.

If not the advanced technology unmistakably payback end users, do not use it on your site. If your
venture capitalists like the site, ask if they are going to finish the thousands or millions of dollars to
keep you in business. They're not.

Your target audience who will be the only one to determine the success or failure of your site.
