Austool in conjunction with industry partners will present a seminar on Innovation and New Ideas. Innovate why? -- In
order to grow, every business needs to be developing new products and services. How? Develop the Idea, Manage the
Risk and Obtain the Funding.
The seminar focus is technology adoption so speakers will provide a practical presentation with plenty of time for your
questions and queries. Each presentation is aimed at how you can make full use of Innovation.
     •    Innovation and Essential Business Activities. We are advised by our Government and customers that we
          need to be innovative to survive, but innovation can be disruptive. Innovation is often associated with new
          products, but how do you innovate if you do not have products of you own? In this presentation we will
          discuss two ideas: How to merge the management of innovation and essential day-today activities, and we
          will consider a whole landscape of opportunities to innovate beyond just production innovation.


     •    Commercial Ready – Government Grants For R&D and Commercialisation. - How can I GET ONE?
          A Two Part Presentation
                    Commercial Ready is a competitive merit-based grant program supporting innovation and its
                    commercialisation. Commercial Ready provides a grant from $50K to a limit of $5M for eligible
                    projects of up to three years in duration. The program is AusIndustry’s new flagship for innovation
                    grants product, providing $200M a year to SMEs
                    Companies can apply for funding for any or all aspects of the development of a new product , process
                    or service including research and development, proof-of-concept, and early stage commercialisation
                    up a stage at which it can be bought to market.


     •    Investment Preparedness - A three part presentation
               Discovery Beach Australia on minimising and managing risk in commercialisation of projects, with 10
               years in the startup business and commercialisation of innovation;
               Dingo Group presenting design as a risk reduction exercise, and how to create assets out of intellectual
               property. Statistics show that design discipline increases the likelihood of success in the marketplace to
               90%;
               Wisetrack as the 'new wave' of private equity investors who demand a better way of preparing SMEs for
               investment. An experienced investor in technology who has important information for toolmakers and
               manufacturers.
