					    Notice is hereby given for convening of the first Biennial General
Meeting ( BGM) of the National Association of Social Workers
South Africa on the 15 October 2009 at the Champagne Castle
Drakensberg South Africa at 13h50

     1.                 Welcome
      1.1.              Read out the official notice circulated to
             members of the convening of the Biennial General meeting
      1.2.              Acknowledgement of Members
      1.3.              Tabling of apologies
      1.4.              Membership and determining the Quorum to
             convene the BGM


      1.5.       Presentation and adoption of the Biennial Reports for
             the preceding 24 months outlining the National Executive
             Committee’s activities for the aforementioned period:
      1.6.       Presentation of the National President’s Report
      1.7.       Adoption of the President’s Report
      1.8.       Presentation of the National Secretary’s Report
      1.9.       Adoption of the Secretary’s report
     2. Presentation of the National Treasurer’s Report
     2.1`Adoption of the Annual Financial Statements for the
     preceding 24 month period, and the proposed Biennial Budget
     for the ensuing 24 month financial period.
3      Proposed Membership Fees
3.1. Adoption of proposed membership fees
    4.AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION

Tabling of the written notice of any proposed amendment,
addition or alteration to the Constitution by the President of the
National Executive Committee.

    5 ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS by members of the
    NASW SA
    National Executive Committee
    OFFICE BEARERS include:
    President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Assistant
    Secretary, and the Chairpersons of the Association’s
    Provincial Branches and an elected student representative.
 Appointment/ re-appointment of an Accounting Officer as
    required in terms of section 18 of the Non-Profit
    Organisations Act.


    6. Address by the incoming President of the National
    Executive Committee on behalf of the outgoing NEC.




    7. Determination of the next Biennial General Meeting
    8. Closure of meeting
NOTICE OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS, ADDITIONS ALTERATION TO THE
CONSTITUTION OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL WORKERS
SOUTH AFRICA
DEAR NASW (S A) MEMBERS

Notice is hereby given, that any member who would like to propose amendments,
additions or alterations to the Constitution of the NASW SA should do so in writing
and submit the written proposals to the President of the NASW SA for tabling at the
Biennial General meeting to be held on the 15 October 2009 at Champagne castle
Drakensberg , South Africa at 13h50.


According to the Constitution, Clause 20.1 and 20.2 as stated below:
AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION
20.1   Notice of any proposed amendment, addition or alteration to the Constitution shall be
       lodged in writing with the President of the National Executive Committee. Such an
       amendment shall be considered at the Biennial General Meeting or Special General
       Meeting, provided that written notice, and the wording of the proposed amendment is
       incorporated in the notice of the meeting to members. An amendment shall be made
       if at least two thirds of the members present vote in its favour.

20.2   Twenty one (21) days’ notice in writing of such a meeting shall be given to members,
       giving the date, time and place of the meeting, the agenda and the proposed
       amendment.


Please note that the proposals must contain the original wording from the Constitution and
the changed wording if the proposed amendment is an alteration. If the proposed
amendment is new, the proposal must have the newly crafted wording.
Please note a motiovation must be attached as to the reason for the change in the clause.
