									                                     M ARGARET MCNAMARA MEMORIAL FOUNDATION


 For female students from developing countries who are currently studying in South Africa at the the University of Cape
                            Town. MMMF awards grants of approximately US$4,000 each.

                                    Please, follow the application process below:

Eligibility Criteria, for students studying at the University of Cape Town
Female applicants are eligible to apply for an MMMF grant if all the following criteria are met. She Must:
     1. Have a record of service to women and/or children in her country or other developing country.
     2. Be enrolled at the University of Cape Town when applying and remains enrolled during the entire year of the
          grant.
     3. Use the grant to study for her degree.
     4. Be a citizen of a World Bank lower or middle income member country (See Country Eligibility List via
          www.mmmf-grants.org)
     5. Plan to return to home country or another developing country within 30 months after receiving grant and
          perform at least two years of service.
     6. Demonstrate financial need.
     7. Be at least 25 years old by December 31, 2009.
     8. Not be related to any World Bank Group staff member or his/her or her spouse.
The governing body of the MMMF has established the criteria and regrets that it can make no exception.
PPLICATION PROCED
Application Procedure, for students studying at the University of Cape Town

  Application: Application form available online until August 17, 2009.
  Deadline: Completed application should be submitted by 16:30 on August 17, 2009.
  Results: ONLY successful applicants will be notified around December 1, 2009.

          B. Online Recommendation Form Two (2) online recommendation forms are required.
One must be by a professor from your present institution. The other can be by a former professor/supervisor from your
          country or elsewhere. One of the individuals must have known you for at least two semesters.
    Referees must please download, complete and submit the recommendation forms directly from their
                            professional e-mail address, from the following web link

         C. Please note that Only the Documents listed below must be submitted to the
                             Postgraduate Centre & Funding Office

        Most recent transcript (Record’s Office at UCT)
        A copy of your University Registration for 2009
        One (1) passport-size photograph
        Copy of your passport (for all foreign students) or national identification document for South African students
