Hennie van Vuuren is Head of the Corruption and Governance Programme at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) – based in Cape Town, South Africa. The Programme is engaged in a number of applied policy research projects with a focus on countering corruption in South and Southern Africa as well as broader continental initiatives. Before joining the ISS as Senior Researcher in 2002 Hennie was based in Berlin, Germany, working as a Programme Officer at the Transparency International (TI) secretariat. He holds an MA degree in Political Studies at the Free University (Berlin) and a BA Honors degree in African Political Studies from the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg).
