The incumbent of this position within the Office of the Auditor-General will report to the
Corporate Executive for Corporate Services. This is one of five positions newly designed to
effect a seamless, service delivery approach within Corporate Services. Corporate Services
includes all support functions of the office in a new cross-functional, value-chain driven
The incumbent of this position is required to take primary responsibility for the establishment
of a sophisticated but straightforward stakeholder relations management capacity. The
incumbent will be responsible for managing the liaison, monitoring and assessment of internal
and external stakeholder satisfaction across multiple delivery channels.
The stakeholder groups include:
    The recipients of the audit services, i.e. all legislative bodies and their standing
     committees; national, provincial and municipal departments; statutory bodies and public
    Employees and intra-OAG business units
    Professional institutes and standard-setting bodies
    Service providers, including educational institutions
    International and intra-governmental auditing bodies
    Multiple medium and media publishers
Some of the channels of delivery are:
    Transversal and statutory reporting
    Public relations, event and marketing initiatives
    Intranet, internet, industry-net and extra-net delivery systems
   Executive and business unit interactions
The successful applicant will be accountable for the overall management and delivery of the
following key result areas:
   Ensure the identification and design of processes and enabling technologies to deliver a
    stakeholder feedback loop
   Enhance and guide the relationship management strategy of the OAG providing strategic
    consultancy support
   Drive the development of a communication strategy and framework incorporating internal
    and external stakeholder communication from multiple organisational levels
   The development and implementation of brand and image protocols, policies, product and
   The provision of marketing and public relations support in alignment with the
    communication strategy and brand and image framework
   The management, packaging and provisioning of a knowledge management framework for
    utilisation by the office and its stakeholders
   The administration and provision of library and archival services to provide an information
    service integrated within the Knowledge Management Centre
   The development and implementation of a key account management function to liaise with
    OAG line managers to determine service requirements and standards for service delivery
    and to monitor adherence to service level agreements
   Ensure the provision of a transversal reporting and publishing function for the office.
The candidate should possess both the understanding and relevant decision-making
experience to direct the:
   Executive marketing management function, while coordinating market research and
   Establishment of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) principles and practices
    (including current best practice developments) for the maintenance of a high level of
    relationship management.
Knowledge of and experience in the auditing and accounting industry or the public sector will
be helpful.
Experience in the operations of a cross-functional environment would be helpful.
The candidate should have a post-graduate qualification in marketing or business
administration or equivalent.
